She ruined everything. On an episode of their show Down Home with the Neely's, you could tell the tense expressions between Gina and the other sisters in law and Pat's Mom. She wanted to live the high life in New York City and ran back to Memphis.

the food network show was too perfect. kinda annoying honestly. I wasn't surprised they got a divorce. Mrs Neely wanted a thug.. but she had a loving sweet man.. my observation was that he was still in love with her and she didn't feel the same

I enjoyed the Neely's. Never knew they were unhappy. Pat and Gina cooked quite well in the kitchen, they were a perfect team! Gina, you walked away from a good man. Did Pat cheat on Gina? If not, Gina you left too fast.

It sounds like he wasn’t present for his first family. 11:20 He said he would leave before they woke up and would return after they went to bed. Married and father to the restaurant. Yeah, Gina was supposed to leave.

@@rachelderenoncourt3881 yes and no. You hire people to run the day to day operations, i.e. managers. My brother owned a Subway, my sister was the manager at one point, he was hardly there. I worked at Cookies by Design, the owners owned 3 or 4 locations, I only saw them (well, the wife) a handful of times in the year I worked there. I wasn't a manager or supervisor but I was given a key and trusted to open and close at times. There was one Saturday when I did both and was in charge for the day. Then they hired a racist store manager who didn't trust me with cash or talking to the customers. She just wanted me chained to the decorator table. Never mind the fact that I was trained to do just about everything there.

When they first met, they decided to go their separate ways. I think they saw something in each other that they could not see themselves with forever. That met again much later, as much more mature individuals, possibly at a lonely time in life when they were tired of the dating scene. It worked for awhile; but at some point, his mask came off. For years more, she stayed for the family and business... People grow and change. Sometimes, it is not for the better. If 'exes for a reason' was a love story...

I always think my dad should have gotten remarried early on because he loved having a family. However, he said he never wanted to choose between his wife and children. My mom wasn’t happy but she was never happy with anyone or anything.

I think it has a lot to do with the fact that her ex-husband quickly fell in love with, married and had a child with a much younger woman. By the time it all went down, she was likely already used to hearing him ranting about everything he dislikes about her. Therefore, she lost a lot of weight and changed her looks a little. When they were much younger and decided not to be in a relationship, that should have been it. They were not meant for each other.
