As you visit the director on the nexus, you will hear that the quarian ark had technical difficulties. Quarians, drell and hanar could indeed come with DLC, or later games.

As unbiased as I can be, the game is good. I'm about 30 hours in and the combat is fantastic. One of the best ever in an action RPG. No bullshit. The story can slow down significantly when in between planets. However, the whole over-arching plot is very interesting. The facial animations are honestly, no real issue for me. They're not fantastic, but they're certainly not as shitty as people claim for them to be. I'd advise playing the game before you shit on it.

Going beyond what could be consider an unfair or exaggerated criticisms against ME:A, story and dialogues aren’t thing I’m hearing good things either. You said that “the whole over-arching plot is very interesting”, but what I’m getting from reviews is that it is not well paced, that the dialogues options are very limited and, in many cases, populated with bad writing. I have preordered the game a month ago and the entire time had that bitter taste in my mouth that I made a bad investment. I was unable to cancel my preorder so I started playing the game with the lowest expectations possible. And to be honest I am about 20 hours in the game and to my wonderful surprise appart from some of the notorious animation bulshit (yes they are true) the game is very good.. The main story is engaging enough, the side quests are not as excellent as in The Witcher 3 but most of them are quite decent and feel much less filler fetch bullshit than in DA:I, the characters.. although they are not our favorite Garrus, Tali and Wrex are still very interesting, and finally the gameplay...oh boy the gameplay is awesome! I am not gonna talk about the multiplayer because it should not be the selling point although it is a great fun too! I hate some of the interfaces and menus! Yes.. they are truly cluncky and confusing but its the same shit in any of my favorite RPGs (The Witcher3, The Elder Scrolls, Dragon Age Origins) so I am kinda used to it. I started playing the game fully fed by all the bad reviews and hate in general and by now I fckin love it.. My point is not to give too much credit to the reviews.. most of them are just feeding the hate for no apparent reason or just because its trendy news.. My advice is to try the game when you have the chance.. you will be surprised too!

Kinda sucks the trailer was released so late. Loved the inclusion of Jaal. Obviously expected Liam since he's Cora's counterpart, but I'm not surprised by the use of Jaal. BioWare seems to think that all female players romance the aliens (which might be true). As for the game, I'm 20 hours in and I can't stop. Didn't sleep at all last night because I just couldn't put down the controller. Already on the second planet and am loving every second of it. The bugs and animations are a big problem, and they take me out of the game every time. It's so unpolished, the game feels like it never when through QA. But the world, story, atmosphere, characters, dialogue- everything else is so wonderful and well-made that it's easy to overlook the technical problems. And that's just it. The only problems with the game are technical. I hope BioWare fixes the game with future patches, but regardless, they've made a wonderful game and I can't wait to get home and keep playing it. Darn you, college!

6 years later and here we are. See when the game came out not only was i still pretty young but life at the time wasn't the greatest. I only actually played it when i bought it last year, and it was by far one of the best game i'd ever played. Looking back now, it could use a lot of work. But overall it's a fantastic game. Graphics are incredible and the story is jaw dropping. Some of the cutscene's/animations could use some work that they'll probably never get but other than that the game will always be in my top tiers. mass effect andromeda was a literally "gateway game" for me lol. It helped me get into the rest of the mass effect world and now I'm in love with mass effect.

Agreed. Just finished my first planet. The game is breathtaking! Intense action and fun combat, great sci fi setting, plenty of lore, fantastic audio design and an overal solid game and story. While faces are not perfect, I really have no problem with animations. I found them more than ok. There is plenty of space for improvement and the devs are doing that. Somehow Andromeda has the essence of the first Mass Effect, and that's a big plus. I highly recommend ME and sci fi fans to pick this one. It's pure joy.

Probably because for a lot of people the Combat system is only second on priority. Top are story, writing and animations. Remember a lot of people stuck through Mass Effect 1 even though the interface and combat was subpar at best, and horrible at worst. The story, writing and characters more than made up for it back then.

Character creation sucked ass, could really care less about facial animations since I KNOW my expectations for that is way too high so I don't judge. The combat is amazing! And I love the plot. Overall I don't regret pre-ordering. And seriously, we need to stop comparing it too much to the trilogy. Remember that the trilogy is a trilogy! We had three games of the same characters and story. So we had ALOT more time to forgive the bugs and mistakes. So just give it a chance. And if your just determined to hate the game then stop complaining and play another. I heard Horizon was good.

Is mentioning Horizon a good idea here? I think a lot of people are having problems with the fact that games like Horizon exist, this darling out of nowhere with no lore or installed fanbase supporting it's success... and technically blows ME:A out of the water. What about the progress markers that don't fire preventing you from finishing missions? Or Save issues where sometimes up to four autosaves are wiped out, putting players back hours? How about this? People who had good experiences with the game share their good experiences. People with bad experiences with the game share their bad experiences.
