I can’t articulate the joy I have in my heart now that you’re in your new kitchen. You always cook to your heart’s delight, never grumbling, always making it work. I always wondered but now I know for sure, why you have such an abundance of food in your home after watching your childhood story. No child should go to bed hungry and worried about their next meal. I had to laugh when you started making chili. I made a “big batch” today; 6 quarts. There are three of us in our shrinking family. Now just we three retired sisters. We each eat about a cup of chili at a meal so that 6 qts will last us a while and I’ll put some in the freezer. Already put in 10 servings of loaded corn bread in the freezer. Looking forwards to your next video. May the Lord continue to bless you and your precious family. Debi in Vicksburg, MS. 🥰🥰

We just got a new fridge with French doors 🚪. It has freezer at the bottom. It came yesterday. So we have it good and cold 🥶. Today we will put stuff from old fridge in the new. We had to baby sit our grandson. So fridge had to wait. I am glad to have the old fridge as back up storage with holiday cooking.You have a lovely kitchen. I can't wait to watch cooking going down in there. Love and light of Jesus.

I'm so jealous of that huge fridge! I love the fact we can see your farm animals out the windows and the kids playing, brings back memories of going out to my grandparents farm (my dad co-owned, and farmed the land with my uncle/grandparents), even though we lived in town and I miss that greatly, so really love your family homestead life videos. Oh my gosh, your copper pot is so pretty!

I’m new here! I grew up in a family of 10 kids. I’m the youngest. We are all much older and I’ve lost eight of my siblings now. Of course my parents have passed. I loved growing up in a big family. Never a dull moment. Momma was always cooking or washing clothes. We had a ringer washer. We grew a lot of vegetables and momma did a lot of canning. She was the best cook! We always had extra people and relatives over. Momma would sew many of our clothes. I love your kitchen. Congratulations! I’ll be watching!😊

I bought those same bins you have in your fridge for canned goods, oh boy were they an absolute game changer for my pantry. I have other bins in my fridge because it has one drawer and use those as drawers, it’s honestly the best because nothing gets lost or forgotten in the way back of the fridge. And so much easier to put things away too
@photogirl79252 жыл бұрын
Just a thought ... You may want the bottom shelf for leftovers because if you have things on a bowl or plate & something happens to spill, it will spill onto your bottom shelf vs into numerous bins going underneath it for three shelves. 🙂

My son and DIL have a huge frig, but they installed a small kid's drinks frig so they can have access anytime without opening the big frig 40 x a day. They keep it full of milks, flavored waters, etc., but not much sugary stuff. Also, on the tomatoes, look up a dish called Shakshuka....basically a simmered FRESH tomatoes, garlic, olive oil, onion sauce, and when nice and thick, break eggs in it. With a crusty bread it is absolutely a real treat!! Also, cut and simmer olive oil, garlic, and tomatoes and pour over cooked pasta. With parm cheese and bread, another SUPER good way to eat up tomatoes. :)

I love your new kitchen. Be kind to your body when you are prepping food or filming and treat yourself to a anti fatigue mat to stand on to save on your legs, knees, feet, and back. If your not keen on them you could get smaller ones and pull up when your done. I make homeade jams, jelly, salsa, and specialty BBQ sauce I can. I understand the amount of time you spend at your kitchen island filming, prepping, and cooking. It's easy to forget about yourself at times and your body when your in your home. I never used to use them but have started this last canning season and I feel so much better when I do.

Your racks in your fridge are in backwoods the little ledge goes to the back so things don't fall off the back and get wedged at the back it would make it much easier for you to pull the tubs in and out as well as those big bowls you are doing a great job organising everything so far it feels good when you sit down at night and you can tick off a job done.

Thank you for understanding that processed/canned items are still good beyond their "expiration" date; as long as the can is not bulging and the food still smells fine when opened, it's good. Wasting food (and money!) makes me SICK. Glad to know you are smart and sensible! Also: When you can your tomatoes, if you peel them? Save the skins, dehydrate/freeze dry them, then powder them; they make an excellent tomato paste when you add just a little bit of water to the powder. (The skins contain pectin.)

Hi Jamerrill, I'm loving ur new mega mama kitchen, it IS a DREAM KITCHEN!! Regarding ur can opener, have u seen the one Amy Marion uses? It's a swing arm one that when u rotate the handle, it opens the can!! U don't have to hold the big cans ever again!! I'm sure it'll be on her Amazon acct. Just thought I'd mention it to u because u are so busy and I think it would lessen the time it takes to open the cans with ur other one and u'll put it in a very special place and smile from ear to ear when u see it!! Hope u don't think I'm weird, I mean, Iam weird but not weird wierd!! U have been so very blessed in so many ways, from seeing Travis for the first time then praying for him, him realizing he loves u and proposing, having healthy children, becoming a nurse,(that's a huge accomplishment/learning while having babies, finding ur hopefully "for ever" home, figuring out what u want to do when u grow up😂 then kicking butt and doing it successfully, gardening, animal tending, etc...gosh u do a lot!! "U've come a long way baby" (an older saying folks used to show respect and admiration...ur still a baby in age compared to me, I turned 60 this yr!! U are such an inspiration to many, u've helped so many with "big batch cooking and freezing" for later etc...thank u for that!! U were the first "home cooking KZbin mega momma" I found and I'll be watching u forever!! Love to u and the family, u brighten my day!! Live ur life well and may the path u follow be overflowing with kindness and peace!! 💖💖👩🦳💖💖

What a wonderful kitchen you have! Just two things: 1. I wonder if they make a great big colander like the size of your big bowls? That would make rinsing those tomatoes and such a lot easier. 2. Jamerrill, check out at Walmart they have a battery powered safety opener that just sits on the top of the can. You set it on top of the can and push a button, when it gets to the end it changes pitch and you hit the button again and it disengages. I love mine and they are less than 20 dollars. Hey girl, I know this is old and you’ve probably already figured this out, but… as you move into commercial equipment you might prefer looking into commercial organization solutions. Those Walmart bins are great and I use them in my pantry, but comm bins designed for comm fridges, will serve you much better space-wise. You can also put that shelf/rack lip at the back of the fridge if it annoys you. Your kitchen has come out beautiful. I love every corner of it. You’ve blended style and utility/ease of use perfectly. 😊

I would have kept the other silver fridge in the kitchen for cold drinks at the end of the counter top, next to the trolly. I would have also made every cupboard a pantry along the back wall, to save running up and down to the basement, then you would know what produce you had, to then be able to shop from your kitchen, figure out what to buy. Just to make it easier for you!! Home school could have be stored next door, don't they all have their own trolly? I would store bread above the toasters so right at hand. Ps, Kitchen is lovely!!!!!
