I have had this amp for about 4 years and I do like, good price and brand but I want more distortion out of it, more of a Nirvana sound. Hope you can do a video on recreating that sound someday on the Fender Champion 40

For me I use the metal orange and set the gain to 8 because that gives it more grit when you're doing palm muting.

sounds like crap fender amps are junk unless its a princton reverb tube amp then you have a real fender amp the rest are all make believe toys from fender

Of course it sounds like garbage, the champion 40 isn't a metal amp. But considering the price, the fact that you can get a metal tone at all is good for most people who are going to buy it. The kind of people buying this amp are likely beginners who want/need a versatile amp for lots of genres and this fits the bill pretty well. I don't like your overly simplistic vision of "everything is trash except this very expensive thing". When you're surrounded by expensive top of the line gear it's easy to criticize products like the champion 40 because it's not on par with said gear, but maybe you should ask: who is this product for? I can tell you it sure as hell isn't for snobbish assholes who ramble on about "real" fender amps or whatever.

I don’t entirely agree with the poster here but that Metallica tone seems quite unusable. Might be of course because I am listening on a tablet but I doubt that. What’s the point, even if you are a beginner. You’d just lose interest and take up piano instead.
