When I read about Master Tonic it seems to be the cure for every disease to man kind. Whether it can or not, I think that it is a great addition to your medicine cabinet.
We use it when sick and when we want to boost our immune system.
Note: I am not a doctor nor do I play one on KZbin. I am in no way giving medical advice.
Master Tonic:
White Onions
Jalapeños
Tumeric
Ginger
Garlic
Cinnamon Sticks
Apple Cider Vinegar
Cut or shred the first 6 ingredients. Put into a jar.
Fill the jar up the rest of the way with ACV.
1 Gallon Jar: amzn.to/2fGg7CP
Food Processor: amzn.to/2g1Ohlc
Veggie Peeler: amzn.to/2eWYDhS

If you are going to spend good money on buying Tumeric, make sure you add some black pepper. Tumeric doesnt give up its goodness easily, Black pepper helps the body absorb its goodness

If you use the whole tumeric root, unpeeled, you don't need black pepper or cinnamon. They remove the membrane before they process it into a powder, thats when you need black pepper

Here's a handy tip for peeling garlic. I use an old plastic folgers coffee container but a jar with a lid will work too. Just break the garlic up into cloves, put in container an shake vigorously for 30 seconds or so. Open lid and dump out mostly completely peeled garlic. The ones that aren't completely peeled peel right off, no problem at all. You might have to shake more than once but it's way easier than trying to peel by hand.

I have been making Master Tonic for quite a few years. matter of fact I just made some this afternoon! I started out making mine like this but each time I would add whatever healing roots or herbs I had on hand. today I used: onions, garlic, cayenne peppers, horseradish root, tumeric root, black peppercorns (to help absorb the tumeric), oregano from my garden, thyme from the garden, dried rosehips, dried elderberries, dried Echinacea, a lemon, ginger root, cloves, cinnamon sticks and raw local honey. the honey, cloves and cinnamon not only have great healing abilities but they make this taste fantastic!! this is the same recipe I used last time minus the lemon and the thyme and no one got sick last year!! gave some to 2 friends that had a cold/flu and they were well by morning. great stuff! i wanted to mention that I either grew the items in my organic garden or I bought them from local organic farmers. I make my own organic apple cider vinegar, too - it's so easy and saves a ton of $$. I know that not everyone can grow their own or but local so I want u all to know that 80% of the garlic in America is imported from China. it is BLEACHED white and has been loaded with pesticides!! u don't want this in your medicine! my garlic is an off white color. snow white garlic should be your 1st clue that it's Chinese garlic. I don't peel my onions bc I know how they were grown. same with the ginger and turmeric. u might want to peel them if u are unsure. to be safer, buy organic. Be well!! ❤❤

No ma'am. White garlic is not a sure sign that it is from China. I live in the California desert, near Imperial County. We grow a lot of garlic here. We see large trucks filled with snow white garlic, heading West from our interior valley.

I’m surprised China would take the time and spend the money to bleach their garlic. I’d love to know where that info comes from. Also, why would they spend the money on loads of pesticides when garlic is a natural pesticide? I grow my own and never have any pest issues, and I’ve got pests!

Thanks for posting Rebecca I'll give this a whirl...been fighting a seasonal sinus infection for a month. >.< I'm sure just taking the shot of this will clear my head! lol yea like the other posters below, my husband is asian so we have alot of asian dishes...ginger is best peeled with a spoon the skin is soft and you won't loose the flesh. Garlic just needs practice on removing skins by clipping the ends first. For those of you without processors like me, a large cleaver makes chopping a cinch (don't let it scare you...just keep your hand on top of it :)o and change the directions of the chopping motion. Who needs a processor. :)

For me with garlic I just cut the base end of the garlic, take my knife and smash the garlic which then loosens the skins and makes it so the garlic is much easier to chop up.

Thanks so much for sharing this recipe. I have already shared it with my dad and plan on making a batch asap. Also, in doing some more research I found this info on how to give to children. Thought you might like to know...... HOW TO TAKE FIRE CIDER/MASTER TONIC Many people take 1-2 tablespoons throughout the fall/winter months as a preventative measure, or every three to four hours if symptoms are present. Here are some more ways to use it: *As a “wellness shot” - Put about 1 oz. in a shot glass to drink straight up *As a tea - Breathe in the steam as you sip to relieve congestion *In juice - For little ones, it’s best to serve a small amount mixed in freshly-pressed orange juice or lemonade *As a marinade or salad dressing

A; I think you are a living doll. I love to just watch you talk. B; You might want to leave all your ingredients in the food processer and add each one then run the processer. You can then add apple cider vinegar and blend again. This will blend the ingredients much better and allow the apple cider vinegar to get to the ingredients easer.

By the way, if you dont want a chemical reaction, that turns the cider a bluish green.....use a Walmart bag over the top of the jar, then put the lid on, stops the chemical reaction between the vinegar, and the metal on the lid of the jar.....however the color change isnt harmful if concerned. Great video, and very instructive!

I bet you could juice all the items excluding the cinnamon and horseradish. You can still add all the pulp from the juicer to the liquid mixture. Processing both the cinnamon and horseradish together in the food processor would work. I am thinking this would create a more concentrated final product.

I have been making it for a couple of years. My sister-in-law Claudia told me about it. Our recipe calls for adding a whole orange & whole lemon, sliced; 2 sprigs of rosemary; peppercorns and the addition of honey after its strained. My, then, 4 yr old grandson takes it just fine. If the peppers are a little too spicy, I just add water to my dosage. It also makes a very tasty salad dressing!! Just add a little olive oil.

Hi thanks for the innovative natural healthy detoxing food. This is quite similar to the Nepalese "pickled" horseradish in their national food "dhall bat" (dhall rice) consisting of a dhall soup, lightly fried green leafy vegetable, "chutney", "pickled horseradish" and rice. I always asked for additional pickled horseradish during my stay in Nepal and being a vegan I ate shall bat almost everyday without getting "bored" with it! I was told the pickled horseradish is baked under the sun for 7 days in mustard oil. After watching your video I will try making that using a combination of both methods. Again thanks for sharing this informative and inspirational video. Have a good day. Let's live in peace and harmony with all fellow sentient beings and the nature an d be healthy and happy-the purpose of life! Once again tqvm.

I buy garlic sold in a little net bag of 3 bulbs at a time, because I don't even have to open the bag to peel them. But by keeping all 3 bulbs in the bag and gently stepping on the whole bag rolling back and forth crushing apart the bulbs. Continue rolling bag until the texture of the net has peeled most cloves bare for use..... store in their own paper peelings in bag. Best of all it is a fun thing for kids to do.less messy.

Hi-ho all you peeps out there trying to do GOOD & HEALTHY for your bods! I have tried PEEL and NO PEEL for making this, and I find NO DIF as the end result is going to be strained, so I just thought I would throw this out there for some of you who wondered about it. And the most important thing, for me at least, is the thought that there just MIGHT be something good in the shaving that are being thrown away_ HORRORS!!! :- O You know, like with an apple_ there is something in the peel, which I can not recall just now, that is VERY VERY good for us. CIAO!

omg I've never heard of this but it looks wonderful! Full of anti-inflammatory goodies. I will be making a batch of this ASAP but I will probably buy a bottle to start using it this week, I have fibromyalgia and possibly MCTD. FYI, there are glass weights you can get for fermenting that you put on top of everything and they hold everything under the liquid. Amazon has some called pickle pebbles.

A story about Children and a medecine of this type. A few years ago in Canada a bunch of people in my community started getting sick, adults and children. It lasted up to 12 days, it was some type of flu or cold but the inicial symptom that was unique about it was they would burp and it smelled like rotten eggs!! I still dont know what that was, but I waited to see if people could treat it and how long it took to go away on its own. Then my daughter and I got it! She was 5 years old. I decided to try a shot of water with a teaspoon of cayenne pepper in it. It was harsh but I managed to do it. The next day I was fully cured. So I did it... I gave my daughter a shot of water with half a teaspoon of cayenne and a chaser of bread. She was brave, I felt cruel but she took it well - it seemed to effect her less than it did me. The next day she was cured too. I started telling people and they all took the cure their kids too. And no ever burped egg again. The end.

Interesting story, here in the U.S. they call it a "Stomach Virus" or "Stomach Flu" I should know because I would periodically experience the same symptoms you mentioned when other people would call in sick from work. The 1st thing you want to do is stop eating heavy meals, because it's just fuelig the virus, instead you want to eat very lightly for example crackers and toast wih Coca-Cola will settle your stomach. The very first time I caught it, I remember I went to the doctor and he prescribed this medication that had the consistency of Phillips Milk of Magnesia / Pepto Bismo, with a minty flavor, and after one day of taking that the virus was gone.

Joe De Jesus, wouldn’t the Coca Cola just feed it as well? Sugar fuels bacteria. Drinking a soft drink is about the worst one can do when sick I think. I do understand it can help settle an upset stomach, plus the instant energy helps one feel better too.

There is no reason to peel ginger-ever. Most chefs don't bother when cooking and it's definitely not important for Fire Cider/Master Tonic, just wash to get any dirt off.

I'm tempted to make it. Very enjoyable video, thank you. I try to eat these foods on a daily basis in Asian food, (I love curries and hot soups), but this could be useful on those 'other' days, to keep up a regular intake. Asian children do eat this stuff daily and it is better in my view to grow up with these strong ingredients than flood an adult body not used to them, especially hot chillies that could affect your kidneys if not used to it. Moderation in all things is the key. Alcohol is also very good for us providing it is made from good ingredients.

This is often called Fire Cider. There are lots of ways to make it. I have made it with honey and powdered tumeric as my stores don't carry fresh tumeric. Be sure to use good quality apple cider vinegar with the Mother in it such as Braggs. I peeled what I could, especially the garlic. For the ginger I left the peel on. Blend very well before putting in the jar. I was taught to put mine in the fridge. Don't strain it. It will keep for a year. Shake well and take a tablespoon of it, including the chunks every day as an immune booster.
