One of the best Nightwish performances. Any time there is a reaction to this video I'm happy and want to see it right away. "Ghost River" Wacken 2013, mean, scary Marko, with Floor. "High Hopes" Helsinki 2005 (End of an Era DVD, Tarja's last concert with Nightwish) Pink Floyd cover or rather a tribute, Rock vocals by Marko alone. Great performance as a whole, a couple of great guitar solos by Emppu. Drums! Keys! "The Islander", Tampere 2015, mellow, folky Marko, Marko's own composition. "While Your Lips Are Still Red" Wembley Arena 2015, soft ballad vocals by Marko.

Like many, I'm heartbroken over Marko's decision, but his health and well being are most important. Having said that, your short conversation about it made me go back and re-read their announcement, and I do think there is room for hope in it. The fact that the band say they will fill his spot with a session player is the key, because they should have ample time to audition a permanent replacement before their tour restarts, if that was what they intended to do. That isn't to say that it's a guarantee he will return, but it feels like them saying "Ok, we'll save your seat for now". Not that this changes anything, but I blame the pandemic for this too, because he's said more than once in interviews that touring is his favorite part of being in a band.

Emppu lead guitar, Troy Bouzouki, Marko bass, Kai drums and Tuomas keyboards with of course the Goddess Floor Jansen on vocals. Floor is Dutch and the windmill is better for her neck as she had neck problems. Every song from Nightwish could be used in a movie. Theres not one bad song with Floor as lead vocalist as shes so versatile with her range. Yes we miss Marko tremendously with his vocals. I also miss Jukka who was on drums but Kai is a beast on drums and was recommended by Jukka. Emppu smashes it on lead guitar and Troy is so talented you could probably have him on drums to it wouldnt surprise me with the multitude of instruments he can play. Plus Troy is a good vocalist to but more softer than Marko.

for marko i think you guys would really appreciate high hopes or phantom of the opera (both from end of an era concert with tarja). he also leads in the islander (tampere) and kiss while your lips are still red (wembley) but the latter two are much more laid back and i dont think id classify either as "metal".

Finally!!! My fav Nightwish song and my fav live of it ❤️ Such of exhausting and breathtaking yet empowering song. Really good training music. I had to take allmost a week off from listening/watching Nightwish after hearing about Marko leaving, started to bawl every time I saw or heard Marko. I wish he’ll join the band at least as a guest to sing Endlessness live 🤞🏻🤘🏼

I think High Hopes highlights Marcos talent best, Phantom of the Opera shows his metal screeaaam 😄Islander is a great folk song. Most menacing Marco is in Ghost River, great "duel" with Floor.

It does hurt a bit but who knows Marko may come back rejuvenated and mentally ready for the biz - if not I feel new blood is not a bad thing and look forward to see who steps in to the role. This indeed is one of the jewels of the Wembley show. For Mr Hietala with Nightwish I would choose 'While Your Lips Are Still Red' from this Wembley show, 'The Islander' from the Tampere '15 show or the Pink Floyd cover 'High Hopes' from the End of An Era show. 'The Voice of My Father' is him solo, amazing tune. For Marko and a ReVamp era Floor check out 'A Day for Ghosts' by Delain live shot at Broerenkerk.

Another great duet with Floor and Marko as usual. Try Marko's the Islander (Tempere) to check out his chops solo actually gets Floor to do back up vocals near the end of the song!!! This is another great concert by Nightwish so anything of the Wembley set list is awesome. Hey trying to get some views for the teen trio Asterism with their guitarist, Harurka a/k/a Hal-Ca , if you love guitars then meet the Hendrix granddaughter who is a force of nature. Her and her band-mates blend Metal, Rock and Jazz into a wicked instrumental sound (no vocals as the music does the singing), Dawn LIVE (small club venue) has front row excellent video and audio so you see the string work of Haruka (16 y.o. here and playing just 6 years) and Miyu (17 y.o.) on bass just tearing it up. They finally graduated High School and now the Child Labor Laws in Japan can't hold them back, give them a listen a review if you want but don''t deprive yourself of one of the best band out there today.

You will not miss he harmonies as long as there are more videos you don't know lol In this one in particular it's one of the best chorus they sing together for me But yeah, very sad news, Marko is a very essential part of the band, but we all hope he gets better and comes back at some point. Or at least if he does not come back to the band that he keeps doing music (he has a very good solo album) BTW you definitely need to do more of this Wembley show, Yours is an Empty Hope for example

This is an underrated song, and in my long years of nightwish, I can say that although the range of good nightwish songs is too wide, this song is definitely in that range! And beautiful duo with marko and floor, they bring a unique essence!

The gentleman on the electric guitar is Emppu Vourinen, guitarist extraordinaire. We all very much love Emppu! And honestly, he's one of the most versatile, cleanest players I've ever heard. His tone is just so good... As for more Marko, that's an easy list, albeit a long one. Although he has collaborated with other bands, here and there, I would say there are 3 main dimensions, so to speak: Nightwish, Tarot (his older band), and his solo album Pyre of the Black Heart (Marko managed to tour a bit in 2020 before the world went to crap, solo there's solo live stuff, pro-shot). I come from the region in northern Finland where are real wolves 🐺🐺🐺. Wolf and dog are Floor's spirit animals. This performance is powerful and very well staged. And have you ever seen a metal song where one of the main instruments is irish bouzouki 😵. Marko's presence is very hard to replace. Of course the speculations have started here. Obviously Marko has some legitimate problems with the music industry. Because of Internet/KZbin, you cannot earn your money from selling albums anymore. So live is the way to go, but here the venues and the promoters have inserted their vampire squid feeding tubes, bleeding off their percentage of the merch sales and possibly of the ticket sales. But I don't see him leaving music. He is a trained musician who doesn't know how to do anything else. I know people like this. They are always looking to perform. I would not be surprised if Marko has real depressive issues due to not being able to play this last year. I wish him all the best, especially at figuring out which is the best way forward for him.

Hard Heavy.. Outstanding tribute/cover of Pick Floyd's songs "High Hopes" from the End of an Era show or "Master Passion Greed" from dark passion play. They have a special video for Master, Passion, Greed because there is no video of that live, but you'll love the song if you like dark and hard metal.. Master Passion Greed is a song that Marco and Toumas wrote to vent their frustrations at Ex-Lead Singer's then husband/manager, for whom they blame for Tarja's turn away from Nightwish and towards the promise of a more profitable solo career.. If your looking for him to show off his clean vocals, "The Islander" live at Tampere or "While your Lips are still Red" Live at Wembley...

First off, thank you for addressing the bombshell that was Marco deciding to take a Hiatus from music. It is a shock and a deeply sad day for we NW fans who've been in love with them since the 90's. We all felt similar things when each of the past singers changed as well, so hopefully many of us are just quietly hoping that equally positive things come from this change. We all wish Marco the absolute best, and hope for his return, but we have to understand that he needs this time to recover and redefine his love for music. Now since you have decided to do one of my absolute favorites (criminally underrated in my opinion), I'm going to shut up and just listen. Thanks for your folks excellent efforts in entertaining us with your reactions, I certainly appreciate your folks efforts and your humorous interactions, keep on being your lovely selves.

Master Passion Greed is all Marco and it really shows that he can hold his own as a metal vocalist. The song is super badass, probably their heaviest song, maybe. At least in some way. It will have to be the album version, because they have said they won't ever do it live (tells about Tarja's husband and how toxic his money grubbing attitude was).
