I've recently found your channel and I'm hooked. As a muscle car fanatic from the age of 10, I wanted to work on cars as a career when I left school but for a female, especially in the mid eighties, it was virtually impossible. Like you, I'm self-taught, I only did evening classes for mechanics. You have absolutely smashed it with this build and she sounds incredible. You're an inspiration, you always look outside the box for solutions and don't give up. Your boundless enthusiasm is awesome. Unfortunately my disabilities now mean that I can't do what I used to, but watching you work brings back some great memories for me. I haven't yet watched the video and I'm only at 1:06 but I love the deep grumbling noise of the Aston way way more than the screeching annoying c63 noise u just showed, and I hate straight piping, should be illegal tbh, dangerously loud with no pleasure in the audio (especially true for the bmw m5 comp u straight piped, u literally butchered all the pleasure out of it for just sheer noise, I really was just hoping that u just would remove that new thingie they put in euro cars in 2020+ models that dampen the noise but keep it stock otherwise but your car your rules Ig) and most importantly u release all the super toxic materials that the catalytic converter was supposed to convert, although I will still watch cuz I wanna make sure for myself and it's fun regardless.

@@DanConroysChannel Thanks Dan! My thought is only changing out the sat nav somehow for a stand alone unit that fits in the same place, and then plays music/sound through the stock radio/CD system. This way I keep the stock system in place, but gain Bluetooth, better navigation, and maybe Carplay. Who know, it might be a pipe dream, and not even possible. 😊

thats what you get when you have a amg engine fitted. the V8 in the vantage for example was astons own creation(well jags) and that sounded much better and equally as aggressive and being a more fit to the image. i dont know what the v8 in the jag F Type is, but sounds better too.

To be perfectly blunt about it, I'm one of those people who finds loud exhausts very annoying. I'd rather have my car be fast and stealthy quiet. The noise of a straight piped engine at full output may dazzle some people but I just want it to stop. Unless it's at an actual race track.

It's a bit much on a long journey, when you're cruising on a motorway at more or less constant revs. It just drones away and gets annoying after a while but I guess that's where a switchable exhaust comes into it's own

I’m always in awe of your content Mat, but I can’t get over how you guys in the UK can do full cat deletes and not have the vehicle defected by police & taken off the road, or failed for your annual inspection (if you have them). Here in Australia we still at least need the car to look like it has cats still fitted. We also have huge fines for being caught with straight piped cars with cats or DPF removed from exhaust. You guys have some great freedoms in this respect.

Another example that straight piping never improves the sound. It is just louder. It deletes every sound and leaves simply noise. Sounds more like the the engine is puking all over the place than creating anything special. Love the car and the project though.
