Very nice work. It's good to see Superfasts are starting to make an appearance in restoration videos. They are from my era, and worth restoring. The finish on the base came up really well: like new. I'm going to have to try it. Would a coat of clear stop it from tarnishing again?

Yes it would, I may do that in future.

They got air tools, air accessories and drill bit sets in Lidl's at the mo plus belt sander belts with 6 various in the pack for the same price some ppl out there charging for just one belt lol I bought a large quantity of chinesium wire wheels for drill a good while back off fleabay and surprisingly they are holding up quite well against some stiff work. When I bought the Parkside cordless dremel set, I also chucked in a couple dremel accessory packs and still yet have to open the accessory packs as the Parkside stuff is pretty solid except the thin cutting discs which ping off in shards if you cough at it :S I got a set of diamond whizz wheels so never use the soppy things in the set lol I'm waiting til they get the Bauer paint stripper back in and stocking up, they also have in at the mo Bauer clear and coloured lacquers in aerosols which I grabbed a few of in clear as clear lacquer is like a birds shoes... never have enough clear lacquer eh?
@retrorestore5 жыл бұрын
Yes I was in there the other day Ian ans saw all that stuff. I picked up loads but put it all back as I didn't really need anything.
@Sennaxm715 жыл бұрын
The coloured lacquer is great for real cars, I wire brushed and the painted straight to brushed metal on my rear axle beam, and it came up like almost new, on a 1991 VW Polo GT, that was last year and it still looks as good today, really good, I tried it on a matchbox model though and it seemed a bit thick, not terribly thick, but it hid some of the details on the casting, after it dried. It doesn't look awful, but I think I'll try my airbrush next time 👍

I'm on a ban of buying more models at the mo, youngest is not 'aving it but I did have a valiant last go and snagged an original no 1 traction engine from Lesney which is cool as in a box of junk I got off ebay last week were some original Matchbox boxes and one of 'em was for a no 1 traction engine :) In the box of junk was a load of Matchbox spare bits and still sorting thru it and found at the bottom an unused Badger fine airbrush which uses the same bits as me Clarke 13R and only paid a couple quid for the lot too :D
