Well I must be unlucky my 520 Centris reel seized up on its third outing yes you read that correctly and they did replace it three weeks later.Im now finding after a using it regularly it isn’t as smooth after 3 or 4 hours use on a match when making adjustments to the pressure on the tip two other anglers where also saying the same. For the price a disappointment.

Spot on Joe re the washers issue. Ive only ever had problems on the more expensive reels and no problem with the cheaper ones. How does that work?

Hi Joe the only question I have regarding any reels is I have had a few that after about 18 months as a rough guess the springs snap inside the bale arm, now it may be down to my budget which is around 45 quid currently but do you and other anglers suffer from the same fate if so then maybe that's the next step in companies in designing a long lasting reel with out having to re order spare parts especially if you work a reel hard for example fishing the pellet wag it would be interesting to gauge feedback on Bale arm springs. Tight lines mate

If you look in the box the reel is supplied in there should be a little bag with some washers in. You just remove the spool and add them. The instructions normally explain what to do.

The reels are supplied with them. It is a little trial and error sadly.

Hi Joe, what reel would you advise me for fishing between 50 and 70m with ease, and some river fishing with up to 100g feeders? I've thaught to the cast'izm reel but it's a bit expansive for me as a student :') Btw love this kind of videos! Thank you!

Thanks. I use the castizm and Shimano ultegra 5500. Those ultegras for just over 100 quid are incredible.
