Hasselblad has always been a dream camera for me! This camera looks amazing!

I have got the system for a while now, and enjoy it a lot. The mean reason for me was to revive my old Hassies and V lenses. It is a joy to see a camera like 500C/M being used today with a digital back and get fantastic results. I have been and am still GFX100 user but this system gives me more joy than GFX. Thanks for sharing your experience with us.
@WalmyrBuzatto3 жыл бұрын
I have also a 500C/M and a Flexbody. I think that especially the Flexbody will be very interesting to use with this back. Given the crop factor, I hope I'll have more leeway in tilt and shift than with the 6x6 format (same image circle, slightly smaller format). Am I correct in this assumption?

Finally I am able to see a review video that properly shows the handgrip and optical viewfinder. For me, the handgrip especially is a key accessory for securely handholding this gem of a camera. Thanks Mathphotographer for doing as always a thorough and professional job. Keep up the good work👌

In my experience of shooing about 2500 photos since late September, 90% were taken just with the 907 and CFV. Another 10% with the control grip. Only a very few with the optical viewer. I have lenses that would be useful with the optical viewer (21 ,30, and 45). Many times, I just like carrying the 907/CFV, and with the 45p lens, it really is a compact unit. The control grip is very useful with I am looking out over my balcony.

Great video, Math, and it helped me make a decision. I'm in Zurich right now, leaving on the 18th. Unfortunately I couldn't find one 907X for delivery in time before I depart, so I had to contact a dealer in Paris, where I'm heading next. I already reserved my unit.
@mathphotographer3 жыл бұрын
Congrats, good decision. You will love it. One more remark: if you want to use AEL you need the handgrip. I use AEL often so use the camera with the handgrip which also has a joystick for various functions. My recommendation is to get the handgrip too. Enjoy your new camera once you picked it up :)
@WalmyrBuzatto3 жыл бұрын
@@mathphotographer, thanks! Yes, I think I'll order the handgrip as well. I don't see the optical viewfinder as an essential item, though. Do you agree?

This Hasselblad is a real gem. I used to have a CM in the film days. I like slower process of taking images with a Hasselblad and like the color's your getting. Steve Huff shot images with his 907X with Leica SL lens and they looked great. Could you try out this with your SL lens and the Hasselblad?
@mathphotographer3 жыл бұрын
Will look into it. Thanks!
@petermendelson58393 жыл бұрын
I don't believe you can adapt Leica SL lenses to the Hasselblad and that Huff was talking about a Leica M mount lens (Summilux - M).

@dohenyphoto3 жыл бұрын
I rented the camera for a week. was interesting in direct daylight. If you go just off the display it looks like there is no shadow detail but on the computer there was plenty of detail. So your histogram is going to be your best friend in daylight.

As you have remarked that it is expensive, I would be concerned with the sensor so exposed and only protected with what is basically a lens cover. I would have preferred something similar to the old school dark slide which can only be removed once attached to the body.Yes there is double rubber protection, but this only protects after it is coupled to the body, so dust and accidental damage to the sensor prior to connection is inevitable. I would also would want a more secure attaching lock to the body, (See posts below). Its a very beautiful crafted camera, sadly out of my reach but hugely admired.
@mathphotographer3 жыл бұрын
Thanks Victor. I am not so much concerned about dust since the sensor is super easy to clean. I know the cleaning procedure very well since I use it all the time for my Phase One IQ4. The advantage of the Hasselblad version is that there is actually some rubber sealing which the Phase One is missing.

A lovely (and desirable) camera. It would of been nice if there was an accessory EVF available too though. Oh and the word is “posh” not “poshy” 😆 the latter is not a word. A future version with that EVF capability and maybe a variation of the 100MP sensor currently available in Fuji’s flagship MF MILC would be great.

As you could expect it is a different kind of beast. Better and larger sensor confidently beats SL2, but you have to decide for yourself if you need all these hours of retouching skin, mate. 😉

I have the X1D2 I love it but a small thing is that I don’t know why the X system cameras all changed to a new metal strap lug. I prefer the classic Hasselblad mushroom shaped metal lug that so much better for the form factor of Hasselblad cameras.

This is a nicer looking camera for sure when comparing to the X1DII. In terms of functionality, I think the X1DIi is much easier to use. Both with the same picture quality. The is a little more expensive too. I think if you own an old film camera, I would get this. Otherwise, I would go for the X1DII. Thanks for the video.
@KenHutchins3 жыл бұрын
I started with the X1D II... Then when the 907 / CFV Standard Edition was announced, I thought about getting one. Then I purchased and was initially informed of a December delivery date (based upon a September order date). So I decided to buy a 500 C/M. It arrived in a few days. Then all of a sudden, I was notified the 907 was being shipped. So it arrived about two days after the 500 C/M. So I shoot with all three. The 907, with and without the control grip is very easy to shoot. It also is less obvious as you are shooting at waist level.

Finally a Hasselblad review! I was thinking to get one 907X camera these days. I have GFX100 and 907X would be nice for daily use. Do you like the optional viewfinder for portrait shooting? The only thing I concern is portrait shooting. I wish 907X has 3 way tilt lcd screen design like GFX100. Thanks for the video. Do you miss IBIS at all when shooting this camera? With the X1DII you can hold it against your face and thereby help to stabilize it. Also, I have a Cambo tech cam and saw there is an adapter so you could use the CFV II 50c with a tech cam and other lenses (in my case the Rodenstock 32mm HR and 90mm) - that to me could be a big advantage of this over the X1DII. I have the SL2 and am considered going back to one of the Hasselblads - I like the sensor better but of course you are giving up IBIS, speed, multi shot, etc. I like shooting low and wide so the tilt LCD on the CFV II 50C really appeals to me. Any thoughts? Thanks for your always helpful videos!

Everything is good but the only draw back is when you mount the optical view finder you remove the Blad name plate out completely and replace it with the attached meant . It is not a good idea at all were- and- tare and regular using is not fast and practical. What I love this camera is the DIGI Back can used on some older film cameras as a magic without doing compatibility tuning . That is what I have learned. By the those photos look very AI looking. Too digital and it is some ting in the photographers hand to control. And also this camera is not usable as hand held with out that Grip. Blad must have supplied the grip as the kit for that price. If a car is sold with out tyres or a steering -wheel How would it be like??
