I love “God of War”, but aghh! I’m checking DAILY for the “Elden Ring” videos, Mati! 😭 I’ve played the DLC three times-I may be a tad psychotic, it’s fine-but I LOVE watching your playthroughs. Thor’s scar can’t heal because kratos axe is infused with poison from jormungandr! When kratos throws his axe into the lake, the snake spits it out, covering it in poison. Pretty neat detail. The poison is one of the only things Thor can’t heal from

@@latorreroja1196if I recall correctly, in the original Norse mythology when Jormungandr and Thor fight at Ragnarok, Jormungandr bites Thor and injects his venom into him, which kills Thor even after Jormie is already dead. Also, I noticed how that scar is the ONLY scar no matter how much Kratos hits Thor with the axe. I don’t know for certain, but I think it’s because of how long the axe was lodged into Thor after Kratos recalled it that actually allowed the venom to set in

It was confirmed. In the original game, after kratos throws his axe into the lake, a small text will pop up saying something like “axe imbued with eitr poison”. It was put in the game specifically to foreshadow the next game and make a connection between their game and real Norse mythology

I love the depiction of Asgard in this. You think it's going to be all gilded towers in the clouds but it's just a Scandinavian village. The plains look like something you'd see in Norway or Iceland. It really adds to their national identity. I actually assumed Asgard would look more run down like a dictator was running a country just due to the fact that the Aesir are portrayed as villains and Jotunheim is depicted as more of a golden paradise. So I thought they would try to contrast that by making Asgard look more muddier, more clouds and rain, and more dilapidated structures. But it really is just a humble looking village with beautiful weather.

2:12:28 I believe Thor still has that scar coz the Leviathan Axe was imbued with Jörmungandr's poison. Remember when Kratos threw it into the Lake of Nine and when the serpent threw it back, it showed "Eitr imbued". In Norse myth, Thor succumbs to the poison and dies after the battle with the serpent. The poison is also called "Eitr". So ig the wound just is never gonna heal or smth. Thats how i interpreted it.

To be fair, whole Atreus’ way of acting can be seen as annoying, but the whole reason for this happening is because Kratos also keeps it a secret that he knows about his fate. From Atreus’ point of view, he and the giants know about it and that’s it, so he, like the teenager he is, decided to solve the whole thing his own way. Which makes no sense, but it could’ve been avoided if Kratos was open about it instead of only telling Atreus to stop keeping secrets while he still does too.

Just a little tip: You can change the visual appearance of the armor you’re wearing without affecting the stats. So if you have an armor set with really good stats, but you don’t like the way it looks, you can change its appearance. Go to your armor selection and you’ll see a prompt that says “change appearance”

The scene where Thrúd claims they're better off without Modi seems to go over a lot of heads, since it's meant to be nuanced. She's taking a moment to remember her brother while touching something that belonged to him, then using that moment to say out loud, almost to convince herself, that they're better off without him. We don't know the details of their relationship, but we can assume based on his prior characterization that Modi likely picked on her while she was growing up due to his own inferiority complex regarding Magni. Despite that, the three seemed to genuinely care for each other to some degree. Also, over the course of Fimbulwinter, Kratos stopped calling Atreus "Boy." Not using his name was a way for Kratos to maintain the distance between them, for a number of reasons, but after spreading Faye's ashes the walls came down more and more, and Atreus greatly appreciated that Kratos would only ever really call him by name. To him it's a change that represents their bond. So, when Kratos shouts out "BOY," it only makes Atreus more upset.

Woooo!!! We got a movie today! I remember this being a pretty fun section getting to see Asgard for the first time. You also got to see Gna for the first time as well! I know a lot of people were expecting something more like the Asgard in Marvel but honestly I don't mind the choice they went with. Odin's lodge looks pretty cozy too. Btw, the worthy thing with Thor's hammer is only a Marvel thing. It doesn't exist in this or in the real mythology. Its just really heavy. I can't wait for the next part tho! It really just keeps getting better and better from here! Also, I recommend using the rage that gives you health a lil more often when you're running low on health a lot. Its a more strategic way of using your abilities. And its a easy way to give you a good boost in health when you need it and you can switch back to regular rage mode right after if you want. Also if I remember correctly, you should have your other attacks in rage mode too like throwing a boulder (L2) or the stomp attack (L1). Don't remember if you have to upgrade your rage or not to use them but you don't have to buy skills for rage in this game. 22:40 The shield rond is an attachment for the shield that adds an ability. I recommend trying out the stonewall shield tho when you get a chance too. You still haven't used that one. Also, don't forget that all armors can be upgraded to level 10. The first armor you start the game with gets slept on a lot but it has the best overall stats when upgraded. It also looks cool when fully upgraded.
