I just watched the second episode of Matlock with Kathy Bates…FABULOUS!! So thrilled she is doing for Matlock what Jessica Lansbury did for Murder, She Wrote. Wonderfully written, without violence, sex, or plastic faced movie stars. Kathy Bates is pure talent and I’m telling everyone I know to watch!!

The fact that it is just another hollywood remake, and very few of them have done well recently likely means it will not succeed. Personally I am not interested in anything that is a modern take off of something done before. Not after Holly wood has made such a complete mess of so many remakes in the last decade.

It’s good! It’s a reboot. She’s going to slay it. It watched this as a little girl with my dad and Andy Griffith kept them all off guard because of his southern ways. She’s just approaching in in a different way as an older woman who no one sees coming.

I knew the pilot was going to be good because Kathy Bates does not work with bad scripts. The pilot was some of the smartest, funniest TV I have seen since Boston Legal. The plot arc kind of depresses me seeing as you can't get hydrocodone cough syrup anymore when you are hacking up a lung. Do we really need the social commentary? Can't it just be a good show? Other than one little glitch, great show, great writing, great cast and Kathy Bates makes it fantastic. She didn't have to save this show, she only improves it.

I never like re boots of successful show that are generally done poorly but this show pays respect to the great Andy Griffith as Matlock. Great humour and charm from all in this series and as we know charm was Andy Griffiths greatest attribute.

So, 13 years ago, Kathy Bates had a great show called Harry’s Law. Created by David E. Kelley. Now Kathy is back, playing a lawyer again, but in a different backdrop, Matlock. Only she doesn’t appear to be any relative of Ben Matlock (bummer) just has the same last name.

Unfortunately I will not watch because the fictional program supports getting a job based on lies and deceit To obtain information to revenge a personal situation. In this day and age I've had enough of that toxic story line.

Matlock is now the first show that has aired on all three networks started at NBC, moved to ABC, and now CBS. This reboot version will work for several reasons. 1) Kathy Bates is a terrific actress. Her resume speaks for itself. 2) CBS has done great with reboots. Hawaii Five-O, Magnum, P.i.., S.W.A. T. (starting season 8), The Equalizer (starts season 5 next month. ) CBS has earned benefit of doubt until they get proven wrong. 3) Looking at the trailers, It doesn't feel like a true "reboot" because they are no ties to the original series. It's just the name "MATLOCK" and that's a good thing.
