Something that might be cool to see in the future would be a “If Matt Freeman were the bassist….” Segment. Essentially take a backing track from a song with a really basic bass line (some of the Ramones stuff comes to mind) and play a version with a MF twist on it. I have no idea how the copyright stuff works with KZbin, so may not be doable but an idea never the less😂

I had hitchhiked 850km to see you in Toronto, ON during the Rancid V tour in 2,000. It was a sold out show and I didnt have a ticket. A scalper wanted my shoes, my jacket and the $80 in my wallet. I waited near the front of the line and you and Lars came out to sign autographs. You guys also allowed me and a few others into the gig for free. I got to keep my shoes, my jacket and my tiny sum of money. I ended up bumping into Tim in the mosh pit during The Distillers performance and it was easily one of the biggest highlights of my life. Afterwards, I hitchhiked 850km all the way back home and I remember my Mom asking me, "Where the heck were you?" I still have the flyer. I was 18 years old and I'm 43 now still rocking all Rancid's catalog. Long story short, pretty sure your band saved my life. Thank you for everything you've released and for being the main poster on my wall my entire upbringing since I discovered you when I was only 13. Didn't take long and I had liberty spikes. Absolutely love you guys! Miss Brett!

I have this album as a clock. A vinyl of course, bought it about 2002 I guess, back then £20. Someone, put a clock piece to it, some hands that sort of thing, sold it to me in his rock shop. Been with me on the wall ever since. I swap the side over every now and again, for the hands showing still. Right now its on the 4 members white side. Because of that square Rancid logo shape, it meant I could always tell the time. "Dead Bodies" has always been one of my most favoured tracks along with "Hyena". I thought I got the lions share with that clock, and yeah it still works although the vinyl has never been under a needle. Thank you Matt. If possible, head over to Rock Shop John's in St Nicolas Market Bristol UK, it's still there!

Difficult to express in a simple comment how much I love all the bass lines your play in all Rancid records. The sound mixing and mastering makes the bass stick out just enough to be able to hear it distinctively but still, it is so well written that it melts with the guitar to complete them. And here, to hear you detail each part and be able to hear only the bass part and all the subtleties in the notes that you play to fill a wider sound, it makes me understand why I love what you play so much! The notes and rhythms you choose are so on point, just pure butter to my ears! Thank you so much for all those years of eargasm! Please stay safe and cheers from France!

Hi Matt. First off I’d like to thank you for being such an influence on me and your music keeping me company through my teenage years, going through nervous big life changes events, starting a family, happy days, and just life. Rancid, Operation Ivy and Devil’s Brigade have kept me company through it all, thick and thick and in between. Anyway, I wanted to see if you’d be open to teach us some Rockabilly/Psychobilly stuff on the upright. Thanks to Devil’s Brigade I got into Tiger Army and Nekromantix and got an upright bass as well as my Fenders. It’d be awesome so see you slap that upright i see peaking in the corner!
