The Batman is my favorite superhero film, and I have high expectations for the sequel. The one thing I don't want happen (but seems like it will) is that the second film takes place shortly after the first movie. I don't see the necessity of having another film on a Year 2 Batman. We already saw him at the beginning of his career, now let's see him in Year 6 or 7.

Going to have to disagree. As a huge Batman fan the film is good but not the best Batman film and certainly not my favourite comicbook film but I appreciate the effort and the sequel is something I’ll watch for the sake of fulfilment. However I really find the film quite boring. I’m tired of Batman solo acts. The Batman feels overly familiar. Matt Reeves makes a good statement with his critique of Batman. There’s little nuances here and there that I like and Robert Patterson is sound. However my favourite thing was Colin Farrell’s Penguin. He was thoroughly entertaining. The rest of the film bored me because I found it too predictable and formulaic for what Matt Reeves conceived as a story. I also didn’t like the Riddler. I actually prefer Jim Carrey’s Riddler even more now. I was one of the few who really liked Ben Affleck’s Batman. I’d rather see a version of Batman fighting meta humans or leading the justice league. I feel like this is where Batman needs to be in his cinematic career. I’ve had my fill with solo films culminating in the The dark knight trilogy and previous Batman movies. In fact I love every Batman film including Forever & Robin. So the Batman for me is just another reboot with Batman doing similar shit. The detective element is too little too late as far as I’m concerned. Peace out.

I just love how The Batman had so many Batman characters in it. I’m still hoping we get to see the bat family fleshed out, with all the various supporting characters batman collects over the years. At the very least eventually a Robin. Batman is great on his own, but all his side characters are really where you get to see him really shine. He’s not just a rage monster, a detective, a crime fighter, cold and calculating, etc, instead he’s actually full of empathy and compassion. He doesn’t just want to stop crime in Gotham because his parents were killed by some thugs, he actually cares about the people who live in the city, he even cares about his villains. I’m Batman’s perfect world after getting locked up once his villains would return to society as good members of society. It’s why he doesn’t kill.

This Penguin series is going to have to be so internal within the crime families that it doesn’t make a blip on Batman’s radar. Unless Bruce feels he has to travel to other places to train, no actions in this series can be huge until the ending if it’s going to tie into the next movie and bring Batman into the mix. @@DOESITMATTER7734 infact I could totally see professor PYG playing a similar character to buffalo bill, the first Batman had no issue parodying the pizza bomber incident with the collar bomb too, so I could see other criminal history coming into play with writing characters, for example if we got a character like clay face or killer crock (a more grounded version for both), I could see them going down a route similar to Jeffery Dahmer as a way to solidify their “monstrous” like characters. In the new penguin show they seem to be writing this Julian character to be the scarecrow or less likely Hugo strange (creation of bliss being ironically the opposite of fear toxin and being tasked to make a torture method by Sophia in episode 6 + 7(teaser)

I wish we could have more than 3 movies every time. I would love like 5 movie saga at least, start with really young batman and have time to do a lot of villains and fun. With 3 movies you just know he will die in the 3 rd movie and its off to the next beggining story...

WB are so desperate to emulate the success of Marvel Studios. Forget Superman etc, the Bat-family and Matt Reeve's universe have the potential to be that for WB. Batman has such rich lore, that they could make the entire franchise just around him.

I don't believe a trilogy will happen "In my mind it's the plan" But even if he just simply said, yeah that's the plan. I still would take it will a grain of salt, I don't expect him to say no it's not longer the plan, cause most people will then like, well then why bother then? And I'll bomb. But on top of it he says it is in my mind? Yeah.... That just makes me feel stronger it won't happen I mean they are saying no joker 3 Collin saying he don't know if he'll do it again. Tell me no penguin season 2, most likely & now Reeve's it's like "in my mind" it's the plan well you might as well just say no. But hopefully I'm wrong. I mean I'd they let him finish up part 2. Might as well let him completely the trilogy. But it just looks and feels like they wanna move on from every prior to this new DC. Time will tell I guess.

Mannn I woulda loved to see an aged, wrinkly & twisted evil Jaoqin Phoenix turn up at the end of the sequel with dry facial paint & a more Hamill-esque Joker in a purple suit going into an absolute showdown in a 3rd film... Alas, like most cinema nowadays thats what could have been... 😢
