He probably did. I heard it from a former Obama official who also worked for Trump. Simple folks choose sides. Intelligent folks choose truth. Both sides are equally to blame for the rampant corruption and mismanagement we now face. On a larger level, Americans who blame and don't take personal responsibility for the sacrifice it takes to maintain freedom and a democracy are more to blame. These politicians are the people we chose to solve our problems because we haven't had the discipline to do it collectively ourselves. We deserve what we get.

No bank bailouts, no large corporation bailouts,NO STOCK BUY BACKS. Money should go directly to people like as in UBI. It’s our tax money. I have a novel idea, all the CEO’s of major banks and multimillion dollar companies forfeit their salaries and bonuses for one year and that money should be put into a fund which will go to workers and small businesses. Taibbi is right too, if ordinary people understood this more they would be angry.

The U.S. education system has been under Conservative and business-class attack since the 70's. Even if people are born genetically predisposed for higher intelligence, they're sabotaged in an intellectually diminished environment for at least 12 years. We're entrained consumers now, who get cowed into a lifetime of debt to purchase levels of education that used to be entitlements, long past the age of youthful brain plasticity when it would've made a significant difference in our ability to reason clearly. It's better for GDP (a measure of toil, suffering and waste), better for societal susceptibility to media and marketing influence, it preserves religious institutions through diminishing reasoning ability to discern fact from fiction and also provides endless fodder for our prison and war industries, let alone every other ridiculous "bullshit job" that exists in our total contrivance of an (anti-)economy. Basically, it's deliberately induced stupidity to preserve the status quo and keep those already at the top in permanent power. 'Merica ; ( The few that somehow made it through the moronic gauntlet with our intelligence intact have to spend over half our lifespan figuring out how to even contribute to society in a way that doesn't cause yet more waste and suffering for someone else on the other side of the planet. Finding a moral lifestyle option shouldn't consume 90% of your brainpower... yet in this broken society it is necessary; corruption is systemic.

Who are the shareholders if the shares are bought back by the corporation? The corporation is the shareholder so shouldn't the money be retained in the corporation? What is the account that holds that money and who is in charge of it? Who gets to spend it? Where are the dividends?

Commercial flights should be capped at 7,000 per day, instead of the 26,000 per day previously

We told you this would have happened when you elected trump. Hillary would not have shut down the economy. Of course the economy reopened under Biden. The trump shutdown was a predictable disaster.

IS THIS HAPPENING TO ANYONE ELSE? All of a sudden I’m a REPUBLICAN. My e-mail is being flooded with republican funding requests. But I’m a DEMOCRAT. Maybe their turning democratic registrations to republican. Key to winning in November.

I don't understand why money given to Corps can't be restricted to operations and keeping people employed. Also, there isn't such thing as trickle down economics or a theory of trickle down economics, and I wish people would stop using it as a real thing to advance an argument.

Most people don't realize small business owners have 2 sets of bills. 2 rents. 2 Power bill etc and they are ineligible for unemployment. How long is their rainy day fund supposed to last? Keep it up America and you will have 2 choices; amazon and Walmart, for everything from cat food to haircuts. Do you still think they will be the "best deal" once they are the last one standing?

Unfortunately, most shareholders couldn't care less about anything, they just want their dividends and that the stocks they have remain high.

Matt's 2009 Rolling Stone magazine article referred to Goldman Sachs, the world’s most powerful investment bank, as a “great vampire squid wrapped around the face of humanity, relentlessly jamming its blood funnel into anything that smells like money.” Plus ça change . . . 🤔

Companies should be rewarded through the tax code for paying their workers, across the board, more money. Pay more, get a lower tax rate. Pay the executives more or buy back stock, pay a higher rate.

It all needs to be explained better. Average person doesn’t understand what buying bonds and mortgages means or why. Also present it with what you would do instead. Don’t just laugh and criticize, what’s the alternative? Step up media experts share with us
