Matt Walsh blocked me on Twitter because he said he would give money to anyone who could show being trans wasnt a modern idea in western society. So I brought up cited sources proving that the concept of trans and nonbinary people existed across Asia and India in the 1100s existed and he blocked me 🤣

Check the case for John/Eleanor Rykener, 1394. While it's possible 'Eleanor' was 'John's' 'performative' identity, like a drag queen, considering this person went to their own trial as Eleanor and how the christian trial would've went, it's also possible they were a trans woman (using neutral speech as much as possible in case that wasn't true).

@@crobeastness The difference is that kids don't give a shit about Matt's book. The allegory is terrible, it's not even subtle, there's confusing (and frankly incorrect usages) of 'woke' language, it's a mess. I wanted to be the Pink Ranger that Halloween. 'Realizing I was Trans' is an incorrect way to phrase it, imo. I did not know trans people existed. I experienced gender dysphoria without any language to describe it. I just existed, as people like me have for thousands of years before we finally created language for it. The sad ending here is my mother passed before I reached the second grade and I did not transition until after my father passed, me being 33 at the time. Because that stigma ran so deep with me in my family. I just had to be a depressed alcoholic who hated herself until I had the opportunity to transition, at long last. I think Vaush is overlooking another reason conservatives are uncomfortable with kids being trans that explains why Vaush sees the allegory as nonsensical but Walsh's audience do not -- For kids to be trans, you have to admit that kids have autonomous identities that are not moldable (or breakable) by parents or religious authority. Walsh doesn't show the kid either agreeing or disagreeing w the walrus things bc to him and his audience the kid's preferences *are irrelevant* And that is what they are actually defending.

We've tried it. Its a different condition to body dysmorphia, and is caused by a different set of factors. What does work, is altering ones appearance and presentation to better conform with one's internal identity; presrcibing cross-sex hormones in order to alter the appearance and certain biological mechanisms to conform to one's psychology; and, in some cases, the surgical alteration of the genitals in a safe procedure in order to alleviate psychological distress stemming from their birth appearance The two phenomena are *not* the same, and so we wouldn't treat them the same

My mom was militantly insistent that her kids would be raised relatively gender neutral. We got the same toys and could wear whatever clothes or haircuts we wanted. After she passed, my dad was pressured by friends, family, and the public school system into forcing me to grow out my hair and wear dresses. I started getting yelled at for asking to play on the boys team or saying I wanted to grow a beard when I grew up. That's when my gender dysphoria really started. Johnny's story is a perfect allegory for my life. It _does_ suck being forced to pretend you're something you're not. Nobody under 18 in America is getting HRT or top/bottom surgery. Like, no matter what. You get puberty blockers. Period. So Matt Walsh is such a moron. The only people getting gender affirming surgery as minors are intersexed people who get the surgeries for medically necessary reasons. I'm 32, I was in my teens during the 2000s and a few transgender friends. Pretty much everyone in my friends group was gender non-conforming and was in the LGBTQIA community, including me. And like, people being transgender just wasn't something we really talked about. Yes, Oli was biologically a girl but he's a boy. We used to look at his old yearbook photos from middle school and laugh saying he looked like a boy in a wig. My own boyfriend dressed in feminine clothing like dresses and skirts and high heels every day to high school and it just wasn't a big deal. This was like around 2005 to 2008. Oh my god the rage when I heard him being up minor aged girls getting breast surgery. No elaboration? No specifics? Because there are OTHER reasons this happens that often don’t have anything to do with gender reassignment surgeries! My best friend is someone who was born with very asymmetrical breasts, one was a lot bigger than the other and caused them issues through their teen years. They had a breast reduction surgery to fix this issue for cosmetic and medical purposes, and they’re more than happy with the results since! I know another girl who ended up having back pains because of their breasts and they had a reduction in their minor years too. Cis woman, was a teen, but wanted a breast reduction and had great outcomes for it for their situation. The absolute lack of interest in this topic from people who claim to care so much about it just... freaking baffles me.

Among the other uses for Lupron is treatment for men with prostate cancer, because it lowers the androgen and testosterone levels in their bodies. The lower counts of these hormones help battle the cancer in the prostate. But, of course Walsh is going to only focus on Lupron's use for chemical castration. There are other hormone blockers for mtf transitioning, like spironolactone, which reduces libido. The most harmful effect I've been told by people I know, who are transitioning, is its diuretic effects. Mild dehydration can occur, so drinking lots of water is encouraged.

When I was a kid I played barbies with my girl friends. I'm a cis male and straight. I remember my parents being worried when I did, and me thinking why? Because I was just curious as to what my girl friends liked and wanted to try it out. It's almost like part of being a kid is experiencing new things and seeing what you like or don't. Which is why this book is so stupid because sometimes kids do pretend or try things that don't fit their traditional gender norm and it takes that to an unbelievable extreme.
