Turn driver is incorrect ! & poor direction with 1/2 the world driver is on the right and the other 1/2 driver on the left , thus giving directions of left & right is more correct & fun to say your other left from time to time. So in summation please use (Left) and (Right) when designating direction just state at begining all directions are as if you are the driver foward reverse left right no confusion unless you are my wife who even got in and out confused.

One time a long time ago, my wife and i had a wild hair to live in AZ. She was a horse trainer and I wasn't. We had an F450 with a steel flatbed. While we were haulin the horses down from KY to AZ. we lost an inside dually tire. I was so hungry to explore after getting the horses settled in that I decided replacing the tire could wait. Seeing as the tire was gone and I had 5 good tires I was good to go. And guess where I went?! Crown King AZ! Hahaha I didn't hit this trail lol but I did make it to the actually town of Crown King. Pulling off at scenic overlooks on the way wishing I was on a trail like this lol. Thanks for once again taking us on an epic adventure! You guys literally rock!

First double Pinocchio today Matt, lol. I was at Kingman beginning March late on a Sunday, but unfortunately all business were closed. Took pics of Santa Fe engine and caboose. (Engine was a pigeon coop) two of pink carts. Biker shop behind Mr. Ds didn't know what they were for. I had not been to Kingman since 1966, driving a VW from Connecticut to Anaheim after deployment in France. (DeGalle kicked U.S. and NATO out). Many memories, leaving Anaheim at 3:30 a.m. in 50 merc 4 door, 6 kids and Mom, hot desert, windows open, watering hanging from hood ornament. Yea, I'm old, (79 pushing 80 in Sept. 2 yrs ago stopped in, met Ed, Lizzie and Jefe. Last year stopped in met Rhett, Matt and Jaime were just leaving, but were gracious to stop say hi and wave. Will be by end of March or early April. Hope to meet and greet. Hello from Oregon.

I've fixed a tire with duct tape before. Tractor tire. Knocked it off the bead so I could put a piece of duct tape on the inside. Worked like a charm. I've also repaired a torn sidewall by using 1/4-20 carriage bolts to bolt a piece of galvanized sheet metal on the inside and outside , and sealing it with Silicone caulk. I have also pulled a tire back onto the bead with sheet rock screws. Old racing trick. Drill holes through the bead of the rim, and put screws through. That was how they used to deal with the rim spinning inside the tire before there was such a thing as beadlock rims. None of those are permanent fixes, but when you have an $1800 tire that won't hold air, and you have to order a new one and wait for delivery, you do what you need to so you can get back to work. Also, I recommend keeping an inner tube that is about the right size for the tire in your rig, as well as some bailing wire, a cordless drill, and a bit. Tear a sidewall, and you can drill a bunch of holes around the tear, and basically sew the side wall back together with the wire. (twist the ends together on the outside, keep the holes a couple of inches from the tear, spread them out and do a couple of rows, and when you think you have enough stitches, keep going, because you can't overdo it.) Knock the valve out, put the tube in, reinflate, and go. Won't last forever, and it isn't safe for highway speeds because the tire will be grossly out of balance. It can get you off a trail, and to a tire shop. If not, you're still stuck with a torn sidewall, which you had anyway.
@jeremyhicks6889
@jeremyhicks6889 9 ай бұрын
Note that the screw trick will ruin the rim, but if you're trying to get the tire to seal on a bent rim, it's already ruined.

The first adit they went in was a prospect. They were trying to get under the oxidized zone at the surface to see if the ore was rich enough to pay for mining it. Looks like the ore "didn't pan out," so they didn't mine it. They did some mining in the second adit. That hole with the timbering in it is where they took out the ore. I think that's called a stope. The ore they were going after looks like limonite. That's a sulfide iron ore that can contain gold. Sulfide ores require smelting. You're better off looking for ores that contain "free mill gold". That way all you have to do is crush it and sluice it. My rule of thumb is the ore has to contain at least one ounce of gold per ton. Working leaner ores than that could cost you more than you'll get out of it. Good luck!

It might be a clear day, but Lighting can still come out on anywhere at any time to get you Matt "I for one Always fuel up before a job?" "And I never run out." Hmmm. Most gnarly jobs? Where's The WLOR Wrecker? Hopefully the owner heard you about larger tires and maybe some upgrades too since stock is not really a good 4x4 vehicle except for gravel roads. The Jeeping World is definitely a different world, and it is Awesome. Always go last into an unknown mine, that way you can run out if something goes wrong, nobody to trip over. Challenging recovery but fun to watch. Duct Tape a 4-Wheerers essential item.

I had a 1975 CJ5 and the short wheel base made a huge difference in situations like that. Just makes we wonder why anyone would take that long of a vehicle, especially stock.

I can answer that. My built Gladiator would have done that trail with little difficulty. And I could have taken a lot more creature comforts with me. But I agree a stock rig has no business on that trail. 37s and a lift are required for those trails in that rig.

Jeep markets their products in a manner that encourages such behaviors. But honestly, good for that owner for using his or her jeep for actual off-roading. A friend of mine has a bronco that has barely seen a gravel road…

In all my years of driving on and off road, I've never had a spotter. I don't think I could deal with someone telling driver, passenger, driver... it would drive me nuts. I took my kids hiking early in the spring one year. There was still some snow on the ground. We went down a canyon a ways, then went on the same route. We saw that we had left our tracks in the snow and on top of our tracks were cougar tracks. I'm glad I had a pistol. Even though we never saw the cat, but it was comforting to have a big bore revolver in my hand, especially since I had five kids with me ranging from age 3 to 15.

Lived 13 years in AZ, and done lot of wheeling in around Kingman and think we did that exact wash a time or two. Did that area in with our 1996 XJS (2 inch lift, Detroit rear, limited slip front on 33x12.50s) and our stock 1990 Land Cruiser LJ78G Prado Light (32x8.50s and select-able rear/open front), although the LC did have a pretty high off-chamber pucker factor on that loose decomposing granite typical of central and western AZ. I hope the JTR owner was a 4x4 newbie. Where he stopped, could have easily jacked up vehicle, then driven off the jack. Maybe that is how he pretezeled his jack tool. Glad to see Colby did not rock tattoo any doors or 1/4 panels.Matt, also be wary of those mine tunnels. Someone mentioned snakes, but we did a lot of mine investigating in western AZ (wife wrote for AZ Highway magazine). We ran across many that still had explosives (dynamite or even older nitro) stashed in them (miner stocked the mine, but never came back). Be very wary of any mine that was wooden boardwalks in them. Under the boardwalk is where a lot of stuff got stashed, and if a foot goes through....BOOM. Remember, it is always funny until someone gets hurt. Then it is freaking hilarious. Semper Fi.
