Bill Hicks already nailed that joke: "Someone told me, "You know that it takes more energy to frown than it does to smile?", I said, "You know that it takes more energy to point that out than it does to leave me alone?" -Bill Hicks
@ericbluerose93814 жыл бұрын
Yes. This one doesn't count as plagiarism bc she did warp it her own way.... But yeah, sprinkle Hicks and Carlin liberally throughout a boring monologue, smile frequently- presto, HBO/netflix special. Then again, in all fairness they did take all the good material, no? No offense to 'funnymen(women)"... But ya gotta tell some uncomfortable truths and trample some taboos to get my attention. That Hicks joke was 'scathing and savage' for 1989. Enough shielding ppl 'just trying to be nice.' What are they nice for? My benefit? Just suffer in silence like all the other decent adults. Whining is what you subject actual friends and family to, not perfect strangers.
@grahamsouthern55834 жыл бұрын
Yeah, that's funny. I would actually laugh if I was in the audience. Bill Hicks had a think about it and he made something fairly banal into a joke. This woman sometimes sort of recognises that something could be funny, but she can't work out where to go from there. I expect it's the fault of the patriarchy.

@@nathancorliss9347 Also important to point out is that giving your opinion about how funny you think a comic is has nothing to do with cruelty. That is one of the many problems with today's leftists, sadly, they have no dictionary or concepts of history and the meaning of words, which makes them so weak. Beating, insulting, screaming at and spitting on people with a different opinion than you is a form of cruelty, though, and by definition bigotry. I'm not saying you did that, but that is what Antifa and BLM are doing all over the world right now.

@Benjaminberino3 жыл бұрын
As someone who is a homosexual, the only way I feel oppressed in America as an INDIVIDUAL, is the fact that every corporation WANTS me to feel oppressed as a "sexual minority" or some dumb shit. It's like saying the killing of George Floyd was racially motivated...if YOU say that, YOU'RE the one that's looking at color, which, inherently, is racist. Because the thing is, Derrick Chauvin (the murderer of George Floyd) had dirty shit on him MONTHS before he killed Floyd, and if it didn't happen to him, it would've happened to someone else. The point I'm trying to get across is the fact that I don't want to be labeled by my sexuality, because once that becomes a normal thing to do in culture, then you're literally trying to give gay people an oppressed mentality, and the longer they have that mentality, they will literally hate themselves, which in turn causes self-deprecating oppression (essentially oppressing yourself, which sounds silly, but you'd be surprised by just how far mental illness can actually get to an individual's mind). There's a reason why I don't have a problem with the "f" word (the slang towards gay people that I generally to describe most millennial neck-beards, but I feel like KZbin's shit moderation will immediately detect the word in this comment section and send me to the gulag), because I completely get why you would want to use it impulsively, considering that modern masculinity is on the brink of collapse. The most bigoted thing in America right now is the establishment that, quite literally, treats anyone that is "marginalized" in some way as if they're too incompetent to solve their own problems without the need of the big guy, which in itself is extremely bigoted, but they'll still blame it on "thE wHite mAn".

Wall Cutter: people have been ripping Trump for decades (remember Home Alone segment) its just that it has gone into overdrive for the last 5 years and is becoming very monatone. It’s lazy humour and comedians are supposed to be professional funny people who create “new” funny segments to make people laugh. Hannah was simply regurgitating the same woke feminist tripe that her type had been doing for decades and it is not funny at all. And btw she is wrong, women do ask men a lot to smile but I suppose it is only assumed as an offensive thing to do when it’s part of the feminist victim narrative.

From what my family has recorded our people are Swiss Germans who came to America in the early 1800’s and settled in the mountains of Tennessee. Then, when the new country of Mexico formed and gave large plots of Texas land to settlers willing to keep the Comanche at bay, my part of the family moved here to Texas. We fought at the battle of San Jacinto earning Texas independence. My father and grandfather met some of our relatives back in Tennessee a few decades ago by accident. That’s about all I know of it.

Why people laugh at unfunny jokes: -You come to a comedy club intending and primed to laugh. -You paid money to laugh, so not laughing causes cognitive dissonance. -Mob mentality, others around you are laughing, sometimes even planted during filmed sets. -There is a 'rhythm' to a comedy routine where you just laugh as a response to the timing before the joke has settled in. (Difference between shows with CACKLING laughter and a general crowd titter at every pause)
@Roflcrabs3 жыл бұрын
I often wondered that. Never been to a comedy show, usually watching them on TV or on my phone while making dinner and though the jokes are actually funny I don't usually laugh it's just like.. internal, maybe at best I'll get a "hah." These Daily Wire blokes though touch on issues that are interesting but mostly dull and informative so when they throw in the odd joke it actually lands like a long build up to a punchline and I laugh louder than comedy shows, so much so that my flatmates give me weird looks like I've finally lost it since I'm always fairly reserved.
