It was a Joy watching Dan Marino throw a pass. He had the ability to put the ball where no other quarterback could. He is still the greatest quarterback of all time.

@@suhailalmlahi7096 I'm no Marino fan but any quarterback that played after the rules were changed in the early 2000s can't be considered the best. I'd also take Montana over anyone, but if he's not there gimme Marino, Elway, Kelly, Young, Favre, etc. over anyone today. Marino's era was the best in football history because there was balance in the game, both between running and passing as well as among offense, defense and special teams. Teams had different identities, and multiple blueprints could net you a Lombardi. Nowadays you're going nowhere without an elite quarterback because "they've" demanded the quarterback be irreplaceable. Marino lit up my Jets just as Brady did later on more times than I care to remember, the difference being Marino and his brethren got beat down...a lot. They played with a fear or at least a healthy respect for the defense that just doesn't exist today. And maybe that's for the best, but the game just isn't as interesting. Comparing eras is pointless but if it must be done this fact can't be overlooked.

I think Dan Marino is Great as well. Time should not dull the absolute "Greatness" that Dan Marino accomplished on the football field. Truly one of the greatest of all time.

One of those rare games in Dan Marino's career where his passing was complemented with a solid Dolphins running game and a solid Dolphins defense. The Seahawks looked completely unprepared to play this game. They were probably still hung over from the euphoria of knocking the defending Super Bowl Champion Raiders out of the playoffs one week earlier. Dan Dolphin and the Miami Marinos.

That was a rough game and AFC west was brutal.Hawks were 12-4 wildcard.

The dolphins defense was solid all year in 1984 though. They weren't great but definitely solid. I think they gave up 296 pts which is like 18ppg. I also believe they had the #1 defense in the nfl in 1998 but still got stomped by the Broncos 💀.

44:39 #33 Dan Doornink resumed his medical school classes on Jan 31 . Another scholarly, learned nfl football player was great Minnesota Vikings Lineman Alan Page. He studied Law off season . He became a practicing attorney and was later appointed a federal judge ( not supreme court , there are other federal judges in the US) . Another guy which comes to mind was Penn state All american lineman Mike Reed . I don't know if or how long he played in the NFL but he was a formally trained classical pianist . Later he play and tour with legitimate , also formally trained classical pianist and comedian Victor Borge . Also Frank Ryan qb with the Cleveland Browns when they won old NFL championship with Jim Brown (1965?) . Ryan worked on and received a PhD in mathematics while with the Browns .

The only Hall of Fame game for the Dolphins since Superbowl VIII 1973 was the defeat of the undefeated Bears on a Monday in 1985. 38-24. Otherwise, that,s about it.

they were a one dimensional pass only team that got exposed by the better balanced teams in the playoffs. Back then you needed a running game & a defense to win. I would add the 1992 SD playoff game to the mix. SD had won 8 in a row & 12 of 13 going into that game. Everyone was picking them to beat Miami & they got blown out

They would have beaten any AFC team during the playoffs, even Raiders who they lost to earlier in the season, despite Marino breaking TD records during that game. It’s a shame they came up short during the Super Bowl that year though.
