I don't know all that much about Teslas, but I will pass on the following: the HOA for my townhouse community does not allow Teslas to be charged inside the garage. Charging stations have to be mounted outside on the driveway because of the risk of fire while charging. Though the risk is small, fire has been known to occur, and there would be nothing worse than having your beautiful home go up in flames.

Enjoy your Tesla! My family has a 2012 Tesla Model S which still runs great. Such a good car. Some advice I have is to set the battery not to charge fully if you don’t need it. We have ours set to charge to 50% because we don’t normally need more than that. It helps increase battery longevity. So if all you do most of the time is just take it to the airport or just around your local area you can set it to charge to a lower setting and charge it to full whenever you need to drive longer distances.

I always wondered why the 73 has the Hud. On the 747, we don't have a hud, but we still do CAT III approaches.
@MrGyngve2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, but you do CATIIIA, B or C? The HUD makes the difference between a 0-RVR 50ft DH minima and a 0-0 (if I am not mistaken) for a two AP aircraft (and you have three!). But of course if your SOP (OM) is to be more strict and considering the fact that you rarely need that low of a minima, I would bet that the HUD is money spent not for the sake of increased chances of landing, but for safety..? I know that a LCC like Ryanair has left them out as they dont see the cost/benefit of having them. EDIT: The 737 also has a fail operational vs fail passive autoland-system. I figured the 747 is much like the 767 in that if you lose one of the three, you revert to CATII, and divert if that happened prior to entering 1000ft AGL.

What is a cat 3
@DrMason-es7bh3 жыл бұрын
A cat 3 or category 3 is a type of runway approach when landing. It’s an ILS approach that most pilots use when visibility is bad due to dense fog. You might have heard Ernie say they wanted to avoid a go around which can happen due to dense fog. So in a cat 3 the aircraft shoots the approach because of the low visibility and the decision heights are lower in a cat 3 than a cat 2 or other approach.

Hello, love the channel and appreciate you sharing all the knowledge… curious, what makes a SWA Max ETOPS or not? I assumed that SW ordered all their maxes the same, so they would all be ETOPS but that is obviously not the case, thanks!
@Stepclimb3 жыл бұрын
For all airlines, ETOPS aircraft require more frequent maintenance actions and are therefore more expensive to own/operate . Details can be found in 14 CFR 121.374 Because they have higher fixed costs to operate, airlines don’t usually operate any more ETOPS aircraft than they need to. ETOPS aircraft are equipped with HF radios, SATCOM data and voice links radios and have rafts in the cabin that are normally not required on non-ETOPS aircraft.
