The best thing about Burton's Batman movies is that they rely on characters stories and development and good actor actings, and less in cool FX, car chases and big explosions.

Christopher Walken is chilling in this movie. To act friendly with someone seconds before killing them is so much scarier than just killing them. Yeah, she didn't actually die, but he had real murderous intent, which he hid very well.

I think it makes perfect sense. I think Selina hoped he'd give her a raise/promotion to keep it a secret. There's nothing really to say Selina found it reprehensible and she could have kept it quiet and told the press if she did. I like the idea that she was a little bit sly even before he tried to kill her.

It was fine. Selina unfortunately was a scatter-brained and socially awkward secretary who simply was not thinking and panicked in this situation. She kept digging herself deeper and deeper trying to impress her boss of her skills, but underestimating that knowing this would result in her life being put in danger.

There was a paperback book that came out sometime as the movie. I was obsessed by this movie and digested all I could about it. The book was phenomenal. In it, it explains what was going through her mind. She was really preoccupied with making good notes for Max, she didn't pay any attention to what she read & wrote. It was all too technical for her. When Max comes in, she's so bent on impressing him that she starts regurgitating EVERYTHING. It's not until she says "capacitor" out loud that she realizes what hes doing. In the book, she feels the colour drain from her face when she notices that Max knows she knows too much. Amazing scene. Tim Burton did amazing things with these characters!

"how can you be so mean to someone who's so meaningless?" this is so deep, about her, being in a world dominated by men, being taken for granted, desperately looking for a guy/ attention (indicated by the "hello there" sign in her room), she tried to say sorry but Max killed her anyway. so, that was the turning point, she decided to rise and fight for her revenge, even tried to break the man domination (once she was saved by Batman) also she tried to save a woman from being raped, tried to allied with Penguin:) Michelle as Catwoman is still the best and of course Batman Returns is my all time favorite Batman movie. Cheers!

After seeing Antman and The Wasp last night, I went here to check how brilliant Miss Pfeiffer was in this role. I grew up adoring this character and memorizing her lines. Her one liners and quotes are just so legendary. Then I realized that both her and Michael Keaton are now part of MCU, the latter playing the vulture in the last Spiderman movie. But Michelle’s Catwoman will remain one of the most iconic comic character ever played in a movie. I even had a catwoman action figure of hers when I was a litlle boy!

In a way its good that max pushed Selina or she would have never embraced her dark side and become the liberated, strong, sexual woman she craved to be. And realize her self worth and potential.

The one and only thing I feel like could've been added to this scene is, when Selina sits down in the chair and Max sits on the desk, Max could've said; "You know, they ARE called protected files for a reason, Ms. Kyle...because I'd like to protect them from...prying assistants."

That was one nasty fall Selina Kyle took there - it could’ve killed her, but she survived. That Max Shreck was pure evil for what he did to her and that’s what drove Selina to become Catwoman. But just imagine if Batman was on a rooftop nearby still on his routine patrol of Gotham City and saw Selina being pushed out of the window by Shreck, he would’ve dived in and saved her from falling thus have Shreck captured and thrown inside Arkham Asylum. Then Selina wouldn’t have become Catwoman nor fight and fall in love with Batman neither.
