I was one of the first supporters of the kick-starter and was a little anxious: Dan really likes old-school and quite often dated fragrances and I wasn't sure what to expect (other than I liked his channel and felt he can do something amaizing). When I received this one, I really liked it from the start, mostly because I felt John Stephen (the perfumer) really understood what Dan is about and what he waned to do with it. Dan and John were really a good team here. I do not like fougere fragrances in general but I enjoy this one very much: it is classy yet contemporary, it is gentlemanly and, as you put it best, projects a "well put together" man image. I feel like this one is in the same genre as Viking by Creed (even they don't smell quite the same, they have similar vibe). Lavender, spices and vanilla-patchouli combo are very niche quality and a steal for the price. I already suggested they should make a casual, summery flanker called "Dan In Real Life" :)

Great review Max, found it to be spot on (as usual). I am loving Gravitas. Easily one of the best lavender notes I’ve found. A great new classic that will be getting plenty of wear.

I'm a big fan of the classic fragrances especially now that they have added more top citrus and sweeter basenotes ! Actually I'm still debating on which full bottle to get of the 2017 eau sauvage parfum or xerjoff fiero. Was really interested in this one but a few other reviews said longevity wasn't the greatest and sat close to the skin after a hour" hopefully soon someone is selling a sample to try it out. Lol 😄
