I have a friend in the immigration system, and a lot are saying they are gay and will be attached if they are sent home and the asylum seekers are always welcome, but the illegal immigrants are saying they are under age and are sent to schools with children, or they are gay and they will be persecuted if the return to their home country which is often Albania and have no reason to be here other than criminals actively .

From what I understand, and I am no expert. To enter the exploration trafficking system, that can't be done by the individual, they are only put into that track after many interviews with immigration officials, and its their recommendations that get the person accepted into that asylum application track.

It's my understanding that you don't get to claim to be a victim of modern slavery. The decision to refer someone as a potential victim of modern slavery is made by a Government body such as the Police, Border Force ect.

Yes that’s correct, if there are reasonable grounds to believe someone is a victim of modern slavery they are granted a reasonable grounds decision and referred into the NRM, at the end they are given either a positive or negative conclusive grounds decision. I believe that the government are actually looking in the wrong area as far as why asylum seeker / immigrants are choosing the UK over other countries. If this was researched correctly the answers might be very interesting. Obviously the commonality of the language is one point. English is one of the worlds largest used languages. But the research may also throw up the fact that newcomers can be very anonymous in the UK. The lack of registrations and no identity cards legislation makes the UK a very easy place to live. Even the illegal immigrants would testify to this I am sure. We can see that the current government politicians are politicizing the whole immigration issue but surely the reasons behind why the UK is so attractive to the immigrants has not been thought though. Identity cards would not be the whole answer but might a big step in the right direction?

If a charity or just supporters/family of the defendant, are willing to pay, even right wing lawyers are just as likely to be happy to take the money.
