Best video ever. I can relate to all that. To have it put so eloquently and simply into an easy way to understand. I wish I heard this video 15 years ago. Thanks Doc.

I think sometimes my trouble is having a skewed perspective on what a healthy and natural dopamine hit actually is from comparing it to drug highs, glad i don't give in to the temptations any more. It's always helpful to be reminded that I'm paying the price now and wasn't just made this way. In a good place at the moment though, thanks doc

Great content. We as a society spend far too much time ‘in our own heads’ when we all need to get ‘into our bodies’ far far more than we do. You can’t change your thoughts by continually thinking about them. The reward for hard exercise in general comes afterwards. There’s a sense of achievement that comes mixed with the natural endorphins that occur.

I know over-training & eating lowers testosterone (even if temporarily), fasting increases it, etc, but if on TRT, do the same rules apply (of T increase/decrease) since the body has shut down its own T production? Another great video. Too bad so many doctors aren't this knowledgeable.

I constantly end up feeling how out of touch I am around people's use of either anabolic steroids or recreational drugs. I think I lived a fairly clean life compared to other people and when I ended up with low - T issues it was debilitating. I know some people would laugh at that statement, but my symptoms were very severe to the point of thinking I was dying until I found out actually what was going on. I'm glad I didn't complicate the issue further and risk not being able to be helped. Not a patient of this doctor, just like to learn as much as I can about the topic.

We have (disappointingly) lots of young guys who have struggled for years, and have done nothing wrong per se. Sometimes it’s simply the cards that you are dealt with 🤷♂️

Im getting off buprenorphine this summer. Why im on it needs no explanation. But last year I really felt it was making me sluggish and slow. Not good for T levels

How permanent do you think the dopamine receptor damage is? Do you believe that it can be healed over time? Or do you believe it’s a lost cause?
@themenshealthclinic2 жыл бұрын
Nothing is a lost cause, all you can do is try to maximise your natural dopamine production, alongside addressing lifestyle, diet and exercise, with healthy male androgen levels.

I'm sure many here can relate - porn is my crutch. Numerous reasons and excuses. Even "hard" drugs I find it easy to moderate (mdma once or twice a year in a responsible setting). Porn though. Damn, son. Accessible, dopamine through the roof. I dread to think about how many hours I've wasted. Perhaps that's also why I continue so I don't have to face the music. Edit: I also went on a bit of a wim hof binge but unfortunately I'm prone to colds and sinus infections and I'd always lose my rhythm and consistency. I also don't have a great shower (the cold water part is best done, like you did, in a body of water, not a sprinkle on you). Edit 2: when you say dopamine receptors fried, are they repairable? Or is this permanent? I know (anecdotally) that mdma can have permanent negative effects).
@themenshealthclinic2 жыл бұрын
I struggle with cold showers, def don’t get the same psychological benefits. Regarding dopamine receptors, I think it’s down to your subjective experience, but it is a red flag when taking a medical history and we have to manage expectations.

Unrelated to this video but, what is the longest someone you have worked with been on HCG microdoses every day? There is a long term HCG study going on right now with results expected in 2024 I believe but I don't think they are incorporating micro doses in their protocol
