At around 1:57:12 you mentioned that people can get plastic containers from amazon or even temu. I just wanted to not how dodgy that is. Temu has a bunch of plastics that are not cured properly and can leach a bunch of dodgy stuff into your food (carcinogens). Amazon can have that issue too if you get them from the wrong sellers. Temu has such a terrible track record with selling things that are radioactive, carcinogenic, contain lead etc. Loved everything else and subscribed.

While rehabbing/prehabbing my golfer’s elbow, I find that doing wrist curls with my arms to the side (shortened bias) makes my elbows feel better. Doing wrist curls on a bench (lengthened bias) doesn’t help with the pain as much, but the pump I get in the forearms is pretty gnarly. Therefore, I think you’re onto something with the value of shortened work from an injury standpoint.

High intensity doesn’t mean heavy weight. It means training to failure and ending the exercise when you reach failure. This can be done with lighter to moderate weight. Instead of doing a set, resting and doing like 3 more that way you simply go straight to failure. This can be done with 2 sets tbh even with light weight. HIT bodybuilding is based more on efficiency. Combine that with slower reps so you reduce chance of injury and increase intensity by taking away the momentum of a rep and it’s a solid method.
@wolfybeats1927Ай бұрын
Been following your stuff for a while, just realized from one of your OG videos we’re from the same city, good to see such a solid content creator from the same hometown 💯💯💯
@ezradangerАй бұрын
When you guys were talking about training density, and how the research seems to go against it, but anecdotally it seems to work, and there's probably some sort of mechanism at play there. Well, I completely agree, and I think we can actually prove that this must be the case with physics. This is because if you are doing the same amount of reps with the same form, with the same weight in less time, that necessarily requires more power to achieve. Work is the energy exerted by an object as it applies a force to move another object over some distance, and Power is the rate at which work is done. * Power = Work / Time * Power = (Weight, reps) / Time If the variables that make work remain the same, doing that work in less time means that you produced more power. Producing more power means you have improved. Either in muscle mass or neurological adaptations, something had to improve for your power production to improve. So if you're doing calisthenics circuits, and your time is improving, you almost certainly ARE building more muscle, or at the very least, the neurological adaptations that you can then utilize to build more muscle.
@FranziBeckАй бұрын
Thank you for this great conversation! I think that one of the links Alex seeks for lifting heavy for a long time may be isometrics and negatives. Some channels, like the Red Delta Project, promote this for some time now, and Milo or Pak said they will look into this. Now, I love lifting, and I love lifting in the appropriate range of motion, but if isometrics and negatives can train your muscles to an extend (say, for maintenance), while strengthening tendons and stabilizing the surrounding tissue - I think this is worthwhile to investigate as a lifting longevity tool!
@paulvelasquez47522 ай бұрын
Great knowledge guys! In my experience as an older lifter beginning in my 40’s I found my Strength grew so fast my joints could keep up. If I had to give advice it would be to master the weight once you get closer to late novice early intermediate numbers maybe even putting a cap on what you allow yourself to add each month. For example I added 100+ to squat and DL the first year but it caught up with me and started getting strain and pulls.

@DCJayhawk57Ай бұрын
Nice, I've heard of Faz but never heard him talk. Really looking forward to this, and subbed to his channel after only a couple min. I think density work and some kind of conditioning is very underrated for hypertrophy. I used to sit and rest between sets watching the clock and now I get up and briskly walk until my next set. It keeps my heart rate up the whole time, but doesn't actually affect my performance so long as I wait long enough (90-120 sec usually, usually closer to 3 min for some leg training compounds). It's like free cardio since you're basically doing interval training. The lifting sets are your high intensity segments like a sprint, and the rest peroids are LISS. After having done this approach for over a year now, I've noticed faster muscular recovery between sets, less DOMS between workouts, and increased vascularity in my body compared to previous times I've been at this body composition. Depending on your goals, you don't have to kill yourself with cardio. Right now I don't have time to do cardio after my weight training, so I focus on walking between sets and getting a step count. If I had more time, I would throw in some moderate intensity, low impact cardio as well, like the elliptical. It will benefit you in the long run, not just overall health but bodybuilding as well.
