Thank you both for all the information! I started lifting for personal reasons but over the years my motivation has shifted. It's less about what I can accomplish for myself and more about how I help others progress more quickly towards their goals from the knowledge I've acquired. When a friend/client/etc. hits a new PR I get the same feeling as when I hit my own PR. I've been fortunate to be able to train with legendary natural bodybuilding champion Phillip Ricardo Jr. When I first met him I was blown away by how in depth he would go responding to my questions. We quickly became friends and I noticed he treated others at the gym the same way. Another thing about Rico is that he's always smiling and in a great mood. There's a lesson there. Connecting with others and helping them along their fitness journey is extremely rewarding.

Supersets with muscles that don’t fatigue each other are great, but one of those things that’s hard in a public gym. One time I was doing dumbbell curls and I went to the restroom, and one of my dumbbells was gone. Literally 1 minute gone and someone took the equipment I was using. I can’t imagine trying to superset between two areas of the gym when it’s even moderately busy

Was looking forward to being able to watch this this evening. You two go together so amazingly well! I'm astonished you're addressing parasocial relationships in this video because this is the exact thing my sister and me were talking about earlier lmao. It's this dopamine overflow endless amounts of people got going nowadays: the same exact routine of this thing that used to be fun and they don't realize that in reality they're barely receiving any pleasure from it at all (they're just looking for that hit that they got the first time(s)), but that's not even all. The perfect example IMO are Twitch streams (Gets wild with celebs as well but they're not as "reachable"), people donate on the daily to these people and say things like "yoooo "x", so good to see you live. So I was wondering what's the best way to build up my traps / become more attractive / should I join the army or not?" or whatever else it may be and the streamers response - if they even read it (flying over it at best) in the first place - is always something like "idk lol". They need to understand that this person is not their friend, they don't even know who the viewer is and couldn't care less about what they got to say and they're so lost in this fake-friendship that they even donate their hard earned money to these streamers ("donating" to someone making 6 figures lmfao), some of whom make like 200k a MONTH just from Twitch alone, not even mentioning their merch and supps or whatever else it is they got. Many of these streamers are running the same exact routine (same game, intro+outro, behaviour, jokes, etc.) forevermore and yet have thousands of consistent viewers that are in their chat day by day, start to finish, they're just always there like they don't even have their own lives to live and it shocks and saddens me. Tyler1 is a good example but just one of very many: Crazy entertaning streams in ~2016/2017, nowadays (IMO !) same thing day by day and you still got these people always being there, surely not even deriving any pleasure from it anymore, don't need to talk about the donators lol. I generally don't watch streams anymore, seems like such empty (wasted?) space in your daily timeframe, you don't really learn or reach anything. I think another issue is that you just see too much of some people/content, the law of scarcity pretty much sums this up entirely. The KZbinr VirtuallyVain posts like 1 video a year, even less nowadays, and always ends up with millions of views. The DBD KZbinr No0b3 hasn't been truly active since June 2020 (!!) and when he returned in Mid-Midlate 2021 the few videos he posted all received millions of views, I assure you it will be the same once he returns again. Going against this law and overflowing yourself with hasbeen dopamine providers both at the same time is the perfect way to become depressed and lose your ambitions, passions and lust for life. At the end of the day it's up to us as individuals to stay clean of this. We should live like we should eat: nicely balanced out.

2:10:00 As I sit here with a page full of notes. This was well said, I literally always take notes and hit the WHOLE catalog of videos for the gems when I find quality content creators like yourselves. Much love.

man alex killing it again with these podcasts. would be really cool if you invite kboges in these type of contents man. that guy preaches about minimalist training and implementing basic compound bodyweight exercise in a high frequency

33:52 OMG, I was trying to search for that record for the past 15 minutes, since you mentioned the DBZ example. I forgot what the record was for or who even broke it, but was still able to remember the story. Just goes to show how great of a story it is.

Very much enjoyed listening to this while struggling through a difficult but rewarding workout. Keep it up, lads. Noble Natties of the world, unite.

So true that incredibly many guys look like 12-14 when even pushing 30+ lmao. I think this also goes back to the lack of physical education in school, 2 hours a week was never enough IMO and even those 2 hours are often not spent well enough, while I love games like soccer/football, basketball and so on I think it was a hugely missed chance that we never went to a gym (I might be wrong but I think the schools I went to even had literal gyms with weights and so on built into them). A lot of the time it felt not challenging enough and it was over in no time. I personally thought for a long time that this transition from 13 year old boy body to manly man will - at least in parts - come on it's own, but it doesn't, you gotta put in the work and you will NOT regret it. I have quite a few calluses on my hands at this point and while some would think it looks nasty and they would try to scratch it off or what not I really like them and see them as an accomplishment and my brain showing me that I really did put in the work, the muscle and increased fitness kinda does the same of course lol. While I don't look remotely like all those fitness influencers now, I remember wearing hoodies because I was embarassed about how thin my arms looked from the back and I noticed it so much on other guys as well, at first this was my absolute main - almost only - goal as I started working out: Get strong enough for my arms to become thicker, especially in that particular area in the back, I never really got to rejoice about how this issue became less and less within just mere months and how I'd drop hoodies entirely, because I just kept wanting more and more and while this also has negative sides to it it's also something that keeps you going, keeps giving you those results and obviously gives you a passion and purpose in life, which many people are desperately missing nowadays. While I'm still not truly happy going on my 4th year of intense, regular workouts it was one, if not the best decision I've ever made on the 25th of August in 2018 to start hitting the weights and challenging my body to the max on a regular basis with no end in sight, I plan on continuing well into the elderly years, as far away as they may be my end-goal is fitness and health at an old age, wouldn't mind hitting triple digits like that as well lol.

This was a great video. Glad you discussed the strength versus size issue, and the confusion around it. I used to just increase my weight/load and move on but not put on the mass I sought after. Relaxed my attitude on adding plates and doing more isolation and focusing on the actual muscle or muscle group with light/medium weight worked out a lot better for me. Also doing high reps was also a good addition.
