I loved this video when it first came out! Made me understand the striking in WC! I bought a wall bag snd followed your videos before I found s sifu in my area. Sifu and the other instructors all asked where Zi trained prior but I couldn’t tell them KZbin 😂

Would a D.I.Y sand bag work just as well ???? , I heard negative thoughts about doing those drills on cement wall or a block of wood .

Izzo, what material are you using on the strike pad ? I have two bags . One fill with iron ore shots, and the other is a steel shot bag . I don't hit the bags as you do . I have a striking table. I leveled up, and I can Palm slap through a 1 inch thick patio concrete block . My instructor says I can punch through the same block as well . Do you use Jit Jat Jow ? I can punch a 1/4 inch steel plate and slap for the ping sound . It's definitely a game changer if one had to use his fist and protect the hands as well for high impact s . I work my whole hands. Back side of hands , Rigde hands and palm striking . The same with the steel shot bag, but that one I punch as well . 100 hits in every segment . I've been doing this for 3 yrs . One more year, then I'm gonna try to break a coconut 🥥 Peace ✌️

@Izzo Wing Chun If you are more interested in advancing, you can look up Brian Gray . You can literally make your hands like anvils . I'm not sure why it's not more widespread throughout the arts, especially Wing Chun, due to where most like to strike . In practice, I strike in the jaw area only . I stay away from the temple and eye socket due to real damage to a person . I've really witnessed what condition hands could do to someone face . It was many yrs ago the person who is training me had a situation in Philly , we are both truck drivers he just open palm slapped him in defense, lzzo I couldn't believe the damage on this other man Checkbone . This is why I wanted to learn Wing Chun . I've met some real practitioners, and this art is really downplayed for whatever reason . It's not sport based . I value it as a killing art as in Kali ( it's more than stick fighting ). Kuntao, Silate Dumug . You're showing basic W.C. my opinion, you know more , you're not showing . Just learning the framework for grounding yourself correctly . Sparring is just that sparring. Combat is a different beast mode. Well, what I've seen anyway.

OMG thank you! Its' so hard to find a good basic tutorial on the wall bag. Question, is the training any different on the 3 section wall bag, the kind that I have? Also, can I use the same training technique on a hanging towel? Like for example, a towel on a shower rod.
