Great video! Lately these Max Shine videos are popping up on my KZbin recommendations, and when I watch it, I always see the same couple of people commenting about why they would pick the Rupes over a Chinese counterfeit company. So out of curiosity, I have did some research into this. First of all, I have found no patent or patent pending on Rupes' polishers technology. If there is no patent for the Rupes polishers, any manufacturer can copy the design and produce it legally. Maybe there exists a patent, but I couldn't find it. The definition of counterfeit is to imitate fraudulently. To call Max Shine a counterfeit is the same as calling the Dewalt, Ryobi, Mastercraft, Makita, Rigid, etc reciprocating saw a counterfeit because the original reciprocating saw was designed by Milwaukee. Also, it is funny that everybody likes to pick on Max Shine. Adam's, Optimum, Griot's, and Chemical Guys all copied the Rupes 15mm and 21mm technology. However, there's absolutely nobody pointing that out. Those companies are selling Chinese made replicas of the Rupes polishers for Rupes prices, and nobody point that out. Also, I have emailed a detailer who own and reviewed these machines. What that person has told me was that the Adam's, Griot's, and Max Shine are identical internally, suggesting that they are highly likely made by the same manufacturer using similar or identical parts. I am by no means saying that I support one brand over the other. I personally have no need for a high performance DA now because I wash my car extremely carefully, as to not induce any swirls or marring. But when it comes time for me to buy a performance 15mm DA polisher, I would buy the Rupes because I am old enough to pay a premium for a slightly better user experience.

watch my full review of it, far super in design, build and engineering with with the 9mm orbit it wont do serious correction unless you use thin microfiber pads and compounds and multiple passes, they are revising their Boss G15 and G21 machines soon they told me.

I'd still get a rupes over this, infact I compared the m15 pro with the mark3 and the mark3 is alot smoother and the ergonomics is way better. The problem with maxshine that alot of these youtubers fail to mention is that more wattage doest not always equate to efficeny and power, hence why rupes chooses not to play the numbers game, maxshine does NOT utilize the wattage properly compared to the rupes and we all know that waisted power.equates to.heat or vibrations, but for 200 bucks it's a good machine but let's stop with this stupid "it's better than a rupes" argument or the "stalls less" argument aswell.
@autofanaticcars5 жыл бұрын
like i said it will get the job done but me personally i would not want to use any DA on a regular basis i just do not like the noise and vibrations from any of the ones on the market today.
@SWAGURA5 жыл бұрын
@@autofanaticcars oh no doubt a rotary is superior to any random orbital DA if used properly, it's just that alot of KZbin detailers are trying to make the maxshine into some thing it's not, I've even spoken to an ambassador at maxshine and he even told me there not even trying to make a machine comparable to the rupes because that's way over their budget so idk where people can say it better than a rupes because it stalls less(which is a lie all random orbital da stall, that's how their designed) because of the motor, again it will get the job done and is very budget friendly so let's just leave it at that.
@autofanaticcars5 жыл бұрын
yeah the internet is full of funny people, i do not get paid to shoot these videos i do it on my own will and time. i swear if your stalling ANY DA machine your obviously using it wrong and trying too hard to remove defects that is better suited for a forced machine or rotary. I don't want to spend more than 200-250 dollars all in, including pads and any backing plates, etc. I was looking at the Porter Cable 7424xp, the Meguiars mt300 and the lower end TORQx or whatever it's called from CG. Are any of those worth it? I've been leaning towards the PC because I've heard they are very reliable and well made. Great video as always!

Porter Cable as a tool brand was awesome back in the days but now its all imported stuff with not the same level of quality which is why i still have my OLD Porter Cable sanders and grinders. I never ever liked the Porter Cable which is kinda like identical to the Griots 6 inch unit they sell. I would consider this Maxshine and piece together better pads and compounds because when you buy a kit your not getting the best your getting what is cheap enough for them to throw in and still make a profit. I plan on selling this M21 CHEAP for anyone that seriously wants to get into this. I have too many polishers as is.

I'm looking for quality product so should I go with griots?
@jdisdetermined5 жыл бұрын
All depends on your budget and how much you'll be using it. For the most part you get what you pay for, like with everything else. If price is a factor and you're only looking to do moderate correction on your own cars every year or two, you'll be fine with a basic machine. In my personal experience the Harbor Freight polisher is superior to the entry level Griots. It can power through edges, curves, etc. where the Griots stalls very easily. I hated the Griots. If you're looking to detail on some kind of professional level for profit it's a different story. Spend the extra money and get a high end machine. It will save a lot time and pay for itself after a couple jobs. If you're only buying one polisher, I would definitely recommend a gear driven like the Flex 3401. It does not stall and you can efficiently do an entire car with no problem. A long throw needs big flat panels to perform it's best and you'll find yourself needing a 3" machine. Ideally you want to have all 3 to choose from eventually, but the gear driven can efficiently polish the entire vehicle with no problems. 👍✌

buy a few sample packs and see what you like, for me vibrations are important as i have a hand injury and can not take prolonged stress on my right wrist and hand. also microfiber cutting pads also make these machines much harder to control versus a force driven machine like the Flex 3401 or Rupes Mille, for some reason those are fine with microfiber pads it must be the throw difference

for smaller stuff I use my Flex Mini rotary and DA, the Rupes Ibrid Nano Long neck and my Dynabrade air polishers. you may be able to adapt the smaller pads to these larger machines but i would not risk it, i think it will seriously throw the counter balance way off.
