That's why they're bad ass like Slayer , they don't give a fuck about being poser's ! They just go out there and rip it up unlike sell out's Metallica , where they worry about production values and trying to stay mainstream . @mikeg.92384 жыл бұрын
@@jacobedward2401 Not so much ugly , but aren't posers. They just go out there in a t-shirt and jeans and kick ass , that's why I am a huge Slayer fan , they never changed from who they were from day one until their last farewell show , which I was lucky to see in the pit. They stayed true to themselves and I respect all bands that do that , I used to be a huge Metallica fan in the 80's and saw them at a small club on the Kill em all tour , but then they sold out in the 90's. Maiden is another band that stayed true to themselves and didn't sell out or dress like chicks in the 80's. Same with the grunge bands in the 90's , they just went out there and played without all the glitz of the hair metal posers...

@hyperluminalreality17 жыл бұрын
Ampeg SVT amps are rated at 300w into a 4 ohm load. Watch the Mohak Sleep videos for a taste of how heavy his bass is. Watch video 2 which is Sonic Titan. Notice that Al steps on a DOD OD250 overdrive AND a Boss DS-1distortion before launching into Sonic Titan. Heavy. Notice the sustaining bass completely drown out Matt's guitar during the opening riff to the verse section until Al mutes the bass. Bong tokes for the masses!

The drummer is extremely cool, the slow Groove Master General, I think he is a micro second behind on the slow stuff, on pu, which excentuates the might and majesty of the overall effect even more. The other 2 are of course incredibly good. Fuzzy, heavy Rickenbaker, Screaming, mutant, power head Blast Les Paul!?!? Oh, alright, go on then! Brilliant stuff!

@@behindwallsofsound5006 yeah man I think I was high when I wrote that lol. New High on Fire this month though? Hopefully once this whole corona thing is over we'll be able to enjoy live music again.

Fuuuuuuuck I want to go to a sleep show so damn bad. Scott Evans did an outstanding job recording and mixing this live show, he nailed it. Such a good sound engineer. 🍻

Great band love the wall of distortion. Never got to see them live yet. They were supposed to play at a venue I ran sound at but it fell through. Did get to mix Mastodon and High on Fire. It was a small venue/ biker bar in a small city in NC called the Wizard. My friends Cliff and Michael were able to somehow book these good bands. Michael and I had a decent PA system so we did the sound. Great times Had all kinds of bands at that time period come through like the ones I mentioned and The Murder Junkies, Antiseen, Weedeater. I was an active junkie in those days which I’ve been sober for years now so but wish I had not been so strung out but the bands and the crowds always said we had better sound than a lot of the venues they played and sincerely thanked us for the good work which meant a lot to me because it’s what I love to do. I love to play too but have had trouble finding people who could relate to the sound I always had in my head so I gave up. I miss those days now. I wish I would have, had a clearer head and I wish this band would have got to make it. The giant rig they have in this video wouldn’t have fit in there though lol. I would have tried though. Lol. Thanks for this video.

he made the way you end up sounding when you play bass and sing at the same time work and sound haunting.

was there, and I'll be damned if they didn't kill it. Jason on drums is such a nice addition

Sleep is probably one of the most superb bands out there. The musicianship for being in the heavy category beats out alot of other heavy bands that just record. Sleep actually plays up there and it's almost never the same.

Props to the guy on the desk! I think this the best live mix I've heard, the attention to detail is crazy.. although personly the guitar is to high in the mix in some parts!
