Regarding Nirvana's 'I hate myself and I want to die' - Noel has evidently never suffered from depression and he obviously doesn't have self esteem issues either that often make people feel this way. Read about it. It falls under many genres, saying you dont like jazz is like saying you dont like the word assocation, there will absolutely be jazz you like there is so much of it and its all so different. Oasis used chord progressions and chords which are basically jazz at times, if you ever hear dominants, diminished chords, augmented chords, maj7's in a pop song... thats basically jazz chords, those jazz musicians pioneered the use of them, and showed people how to wrote more interesting songs with them. Most pop music is triads, 4/4 time and verse/chorus/verse/chorus/middle 8/chorus structure. Its a formula Noel absorbed and used (without even realising) his whole career. Thats great if you want radio friendly songs, but what about artistic expression? what about experimentation and boundary pushing? Classical musicians did this until modern classical declined in popularity, now the experimentation is done by mainly jazz, metal and progressive bands. These are the most advanced level music genres, you will be challenged and you will also be rewarded.

I like a myriad of musical styles, and predominantly lean towards the Rock genre (of which there are many sub-genres), and if it's got great melodies, hooks and energy I'll give anything a listen. Oasis were a great band, especially the first two albums, and apart from the odd tune, the Gallagher brothers post Oasis feels like they haven't moved on enough. Maybe they should listen to more differing styles of music for inspiration, and appreciate there's more to be inspired by than the Beatles? Noel does like Punk. Never Mind the Bollocks is one of his favourite albums, ever. He does not like what is being presented as 'punk' , today.

@@bobbystoker4856 you were about to discuss the staying power of Simply Red. England has made as much trash as it has anything good.
@blahblah6065 жыл бұрын
@@BungleJoogie68 seriously though... Oasis doesn't have near the talent of Simply Red. I don't care for either but Oasis really is the worst. John Lennon's voice sucked but Liam impersonating him is worse. All over 3 chords with plodding predictable changes.

Noel adores the smiths ♥️ so in my book he's a top bloke, as the smiths are the greatest band to ever grace the music scene! Magnificent 😎

What I like about this guy is that you never know if he's trying to be provocative or if he's just dumb. It makes his interviews pretty fun to watch : what stupid thing is he going to say next ?

It's funny his idea about Rock killing Rock and Roll and people lazily wearing their guitars. Meanwhile, Oasis always were incredibly safe, conservative, middle of the road rock. Their music took no unexpected turns and had no risks to it. I have always suspected this is why they were always so full of "attitude" in their public personas, because their actual music was so safe and bland, they had to overcompensate. They're like the McDonald's of rock--billions served, no nutritional value. And on top of that, they were very unoriginal and derivative. They didn't present one original idea of their own all along. That being said, I still generally like Noel interviews, cus he can often be a funny fucker.

@@EthanAndViolaVlogs to people who don't listen to those genres, like myself, there really isn't much of a difference. With all due respect to the genres, a lot of emo bands scream their lyrics and a lot of heavy metal bands scream their lyrics, they might be talking about different things, but a lot of the time it doesn't sound that much different, except the fact emo music is less "heavy" than heavy metal.

Saying that Jazz is just a few of people playing the wrong notes and in the wrong keys at the same time is like normies who think that metal music is just "noise" and "screaming". Maybe you should actually listen to the music before you embarrass yourself like that, mate

70s fusion is fun, pretty much what you heard on 90s hip hop came from that genre. Sophisti-pop can definitely be interesting too which takes influences on jazz and 60s soul. Bebop and hard-bop have fast tempos which makes them interesting to hear and can be played at night clubs. May not be jazz but there's also jump blues which to me was proto-r&b but had a stronger jazz influence to it.
