This house exceeds expectations!! WOW!! It is absolutely gorgeous and so well preserved! The history behind the family sure, but all of the things they collected as well share a different kind of history. It breaks my heart to see the ceiling caving in etc..bc you know that means things are going down hill from there and then away goes all that amazing-neNess. Thank you for sharing such a cool place!!

I think the recently expired food along with the list of chores to be done indicates that they had a house sitter on the premises taking care of the pets while the owner(s) were in the hospital or health rehab facility or possibly even after the owner(s) had died while the house was put on the market for sale.

You called this a "gem," YES, I love this house. I call these "HOME ALONE" houses, beautifully decorated with wallpaper and real wood furniture. Thanks so much for showing this. I can't stand that someday it will be torn down. That is a terrible waste. I think it could be sold "as is" and some family would be overjoyed to have this house.

What a beautiful relic,being raised by my grandmother reminds me of home,a place for all things even she was deep in church and heavy in American ladies legion, she also knew people of whom,thank you young for respecting the history in this home

houses like this are an antique dealers dream. So many wonderful pieces. Hopefully, someone will come in at some point and time and gets these things before the home is destroyed.

I'm pretty sure they didn't have any children because all the photos they had are way to old. Sadly they must not of had a will or anyone to pass it down too. I can't believe it hasn't been ransacked! So sD to see so many things that could be in a museum possibly. Whoever owns it will make sure someone comes for it all. Someplace like purple heart. Such a shame. She must of been very lonely.

Yes, but even if someone has children or grandchildren..most times, none of them want the home or things of the elders. That's how it is in my family. When people pass away, either the descendants never even go to the house and it sits empty for years or they auction off all the contents and sell the house. It seems that the younger generations do not want the older generations stuff or homes.

those big books at 35.00 some people used to keep newspapers and put them into binders some collectors have done similar with magazines if you had checked the dates in some of those books might have been some notable events . The smithsonian would probably be interested in them not many people still do that .

Did both of the owners pass? Am I right with you saying she was the mayor of the town? It’s simply beautiful. It shows their whole life in what they have here. It makes me sad that they place items and decorate to their taste yet when you pass you can not take anything with you. Thank you for showing us this beautiful home.

This was a beautiful estate. It appears as if they had hired help living on the premises in the guest house. It also appears as if the male was a professional photographer and they were socialites. The recently expired food items indicate there's a squatter who is living on the premises. Be careful.

Please explain 🤨 The Black cloth dolls are souvenirs possibly from travels or friends, just as the Black art 🖼 signed photos of stars, musicians, signed phots from Presidents, priceless things.Beautiful items such as signed letters, cards, books, framed art, framed money and medal and photos that should be preserved. The bathroom appears to be older than the house. I’m curious about what’s on the pictures that are turned backwards.

They have a lot of expensive dishes on display you passed it but all that stuff in there it’s from Japan or anywhere like that is very expensive and I seen a lot. I just hope nobody takes it.
