"You have to be awful at driving to spin out a miata" Me: Spins out two laps in a row last week on the track in my Miata :(
@yankee2yankee2163 жыл бұрын
If you drive it hard enough, and/or do it deliberately, any sports car will spin out, the key being to keep it under control. The best sports cars can be kept in control easily, at least by a skilled driver. Miatas must be among the best sports cars, because they are so sharp, even tempered and intuitive. Love mine!
@yankee2yankee2163 жыл бұрын
@Chewy Tortle Are you driving a good one, or a tired example? They have no power amenities (most do have power steering), but they're generally regarded as easy to drive... I find mine to be easy to drive, though she's at her best on narrow, twisty roads. Highways are not her forte, but in terms of total fun, especially in terms of bang for buck (but even independent of cost, to some degree), a Miata can't be beat. Would invite you to explain what you mean by "hard to drive."

A lot of the best drivers i know personally have binned a miata at least once because they're pretty easy to lose control of on the limit because they're vague at 10/10.

I added around 30 lbs to the car doing this, but I am still close to that 50/50 weight ratio and the handling on it is still excellent. If you ever get the chance, try driving an NC with that setup. It crackled and popped. It tore off the front tires. I never laughed so much driving a car. Sadly, I had to catch up in spring with a massive plumbing bill and I sold it. I own Civic VI Aerodeck now , it somehow simmilar to miata ... even more of a sleeper but still slow ... but every time you rev it up you smile and it corners much better than you expect :D Very mechanical feeling , very old style :D

Hey David, my Miata had a Racing Beat header back dual exit exhaust and it sounds AMAZING, I would look into Racing Beat especially for the type of car y’all want. It’s not to loud, it’s not raspy, but it gives you that feeling of loud speed when you get into the higher RPM’s

The raw analog feel is one reason I still choose to drive a 99 SVT Contour as a daily. The price and feel of the car just felt right for what I was looking for. Plus it confuses people when they see it which is a plus.

I really wanna get a Miata as my first car even tho it has very little space for storage but I wouldn´t mind it. It seems fun and a good first car to start my journey to driving

I like my ISR exhaust. It’s pretty loud and sounds way better in person then it does in videos. I’m turbocharged now and that quiets it down quite a bit.

I've had 3 NAs and just sold my last one. Been without it for about 2 months and I'm already looking for another one as a second car. Just can't do without 😭

Being the owner of a 89 1.6 eunos i can confidently say it does not feel like a boat anchor the Japanese model had different cams which made like 112 hp which makes one hell of a difference to the mx5 or miata that have the same down tuned engine

"you have to be awful at driving to spin out a miata" well, not if you're drifting it on a track. those things can be pretty snappy sometimes and you can totally drift u-turns, you just have to send it really hard and maybe give it a little clutch kick. even with an open diff, it'll kick the rear out pretty much every time

Racing Beat exhaust sounds amazing! Miatas also sound really good with a bigger Magnaflow. They are rasp free and sound nice and deep for a 4 cylinder...

Just saw this vid. Love it. I have the same car. That NA might already have a torsen diff. The “C” trim Miatas with tan leather were pretty loaded. Might wanna call the dealership and check the vin or remove an axle and check for a diff pin. No pin= torsen win! I drove mine for years without knowing mine already had an LSD. 😅

I have a monzo/meagan racing exhaust and I love it. With the top up it does drone but with the top down it’s great. It is a loud exhaust but I think isn’t too much

Im pretty sure they have a cobalt exhaust for the NA. I have a cobalt muffler for my NB and I love the sound of it. It has an actual tone and not the rasp of a 4cyl.

Hands down best exhaust setup is a RS Factory Stage N-Zero axleback with Roadster Sport header and Racing Beat mid pipe. However that whole setup is around $1,500 which is a tad bit expensive to say the least. The RS Factory axle back itself is around $800, but watch a video or two of Miatas with them, they probably the best sounding exhaust I’ve seen for a Miata. I was going to buy one about a week ago but figured I’d save some money and buy a Flyin Miata axle back and save myself $400.
