Have I heard it right, a dry-sump engine? The engine does sound nice, actually. I am shocked to learn that 'Torq Drive' stands for a 2speed auto. These early kei cars fascinate me.

Yes dry sump Also while the engine is borrowed from K360 truck, it instead uses an aluminum alloy construction rather than cast iron block with valvetrain and accessories using magnesium. It is OHV but a 4 cycle two cylinder. The automatic transmission is borrowed from 岡村製作所 Okamura Works which necessitated engine to be moved further backwards than a manual transmission version. Also it has a auto transmission tank and high and low range selector with torque converter lockup lever when you needed an engine brake. Btw the fuel tank is only 16 litres. If you’re interested to see this car in person you should visit Japan and go to Hiroshima Mazda museum by an appointment or local classic car event which you will likely see many vintage kei cars including this R360 Coupe
