Always a good show with Grant....

The thing that people tend to forget is that Slafkovksy actually started the season strong vs leafs in the first game. He had great chemistry with newhook and dach and that line was dominant. It was looking great for slaf and his linemates but that all quickly collapsed when dach was injured for the season. Then when he is placed on another line that he has great chemistry with, and players who compliment his unique set of skills, he is a dominant player. Just goes to show how important chemistry is for players in general, and specifically for young and talented players.

I don't know how much is related to chemistry versus the fact that Newhook needed out of place playing center before his injury. He grew into it in the later half of the season.

@@sebastiencarrieres8825 newhook was his winger in the first game

@@alexkayak6587 Yes, but when Dach got injured, Newhook was put into the center position. With Anderson and Slaf, IIRC. From game 2 until his injury, Newhook was struggling to fill the 2C position.

@@sebastiencarrieres8825 this just proves my point, slaf struggled a lot on that line, he didnt have any chemistry with anderson. I mean no one had this year
@sebastiencarrieres882514 күн бұрын
@@alexkayak6587 There was chemistry, but I also think people struggling at their position. I'm pretty sure if they'd decide to try Slaf-Newhook-Roy for whatever reason, it would click better because Newhook grew into the center position.

It is a lot of hype Tony and Grant placed on Slaf's shoulders. Tony even called him a possible franchise player...I hope they are right since Montreal really needs that "special" player to take this team to another level...time will tell if Slaf is that "chosen" one !!!

I red interview in Slovak newspaper "dennikn" with Kent Hughes where reporter asked him if it was close between Wright, Cooley and Slafkovsky when they were choosing who they pick as number one in 2022 and Kent Hughes said "No, it was not close " Slaf was their clear number one for quite some time.

Yeah, I read that too. He said that Wright was never even an option.

Grant has earned his voice on here through very good consistent evaluation of pro ice hockey prospects potential. Clowns are only good for laughs remember that.

42 pts in 51 games through 82 games is 67 point…. Pretty scary to think how good he could continue to be

I think Florian, if given the chance, will make a nice fit for Montreal. I believe he is at least a third line player. His point possibilities are there.

It’s called overtraining. Nervous system fatigue. You think you’re ok but you only notice the difference when you take an extended break. Then start up again.

How old and what kind of free agents could be available? Might be time to sign one or two and boost the team for next season. Just a thought.

Slaf is the best Habs story this year IMO. This is the easiest A this year for me.

So, if he's a combination of Rantinen, Jagr, Messier, Hossa, and Lafleur I guess he's okay.

Slav looks like a real star we have so few we will put as always to much pressure remember his age. I would like to her more opinions on Caulfield how much did they give him for not enough view of him do to injury his hockey iq is far below Suzuki's and slavs. What do you guys think
@frankloo379416 күн бұрын
Alot people compares him to Rantanen, but i think he looks more like Rick Nash.

Nash was more of a shooter than slaf. Great two pwf though.

i suppose its not a bad comparison. but somehow i hope and believe slaf will have a better career than nash

NHL should not be a development league. Montreal always rushing players, I prefer the old Detroit way of developing talent.

Some players with high IQ are better off developing in the NHL

You prefer Detroits way of developing talent ? Stevie Y made the team right out of junior Nick Lindstrom was a 3 round pick made the club right from playing in Sweden Dylan Larkin made the team right out of college so your little narrative doesn’t hold much water . Do some research before commenting

@@markkelly3739 so sorry I have been watching playoff hockey that’s your excuse for stupidity yet you had time to watch the video and reply to it . This latest response just shows how little you know. I’m guessing you are a leafs fan so watching playoff hockey always ends after the first round, do you get together with other loser leafs fans for the annual jersey burning or do you do it alone

The salary cap led teams to rush their players, relying on the most entry-level contracts possible
