I’ve had Hashimotos for 20+ years. My antibodies are ridiculously high. I couldn’t lose weight no matter what I did. I tracked everything I ate and this obsession took over my life. Still no results. I started the intro dose of Wegovy/Ozempic 12 days ago. I’ve taken 2 injections now, and I’ve lost 5 lbs. I am overjoyed. My body is finally acting like it should. Thank you for this very informative video!!

I’m in tears as I’m watching you describe me. I eat clean. I prioritize sleep. I’m on HRT. I walk a lot and hike, and I lift heavy weights. I white knuckle every bite of food and the drive to try to tolerate that I’m always hungry because I’m trying to not gain weight. I just had to increase my desiccated thyroid medication yet again. I know in my soul that a glp1 would help me but no one will listen. I fought for years to get off levothyroxine (which did harm to me instead of helping) until I finally found a provider who would prescribe desiccated porcine thyroid. This has worked pretty well but shortages in past years have been devastating. I took a compounded desiccated thyroid med for a few years, but my NP retired and the new NP wanted me on FDA approved/something else/didn’t like compounds. I also fought for 5 years to get low dose naltrexone for autoimmune and it has been a big help since I started it 5 years ago. To find a provider who gets us is a great gift. I’m sick of being told to eat less (I can’t possibly) and move more.

First time I have been brought to tears by a video! You get it!! I have had Hashi for 14 years and have tried everything with very limited improvement! I would tell my trainer, if I look at a cupcake I gain a pound, if I eat it I gain 4. He thought I was crazy. Thank you for validating the difficult Hashi life! We put so much effort in, so much input of information and metal/physical exhaustion from trying to figure out ourselves. Wow! Best video I have ever watched!!!! ❤ thank you!!!

I wish more drs would look into this instead of just telling their patients you will always have these problems cause you have hypothyroidism just deal and take your medication. It’s so frustrating even when you show them evidence that glp-1 medication could help because your not morbidly obese they tell you no you “look” fine!!! Makes me want to scream 😡

I just came across your video, thanks you for sharing, it is so helpful, and you may have been joking about us gaining 4 lbs over the weekend and it will take a year to lose it, that is so true for me with hypothyroidism. I gained 17 lbs over the Thanksgiving and Christmas Holidays and as of today 5/11/2024 I finally got off all of what I gained. It took me a year and a half to lose 74.2 lbs without taking weight loss medications then I gained those 17 pounds my heart dropped, because I knew how hard it would be to get it off, I have struggle so badly, but giving up is not an option for me, I still had 5 lbs left of the 17 to get off. So on 4/18/2024 I started taking Tirzepatide to fully get back my health in many areas, so I have loss 5 lbs after taking my 3rd injections. So that's how I came across your video because I was wondering if I only loss 5 lbs because the hypothyroidism is still causing me to lose slow but not as slow then before?

From Medline: “Semaglutide injection may increase the risk that you will develop tumors of the thyroid gland, including medullary thyroid carcinoma (MTC; a type of thyroid cancer). Laboratory animals who were given semaglutide developed tumors, but it is not known if this medication increases the risk of tumors in humans. Tell your doctor if you or anyone in your family has or has ever had MTC or Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia syndrome type 2 (MEN 2; condition that causes tumors in more than one gland in the body).” The warnings are specific types of thyroid considerations and things to watch for anyone taking the medication, it seems.

This is exactly why i dont start it! and also apparently it sliws down digestion so much that people( my friends who are doing it) throw up food from two dats ago sitting in their stomach. If i start it and i already have verry slow metabolism( due to thyroid gland dying) and food already digesting sloowww i wonder if it would have even more dire consequences.

A rare thyroid cancer was being formed in rats during trails but it hasn’t shown up in humans. I think it’s been out for 2 years so not sure if it’s long enough or not to tell. Plus if you’re not a diabetic this isn’t to take long-term. This is just to help reset your metabolic system if you already have thyroid issues. Here is a quick video on ozempic and risk of thyroid cancers. kzbin.info/www/bejne/nnjNoq2XjtdgaNEsi=jvpj9s3DtINSS6g4

I am on Mounjaro 7.5mg and have no thyroid. I also take Tirosint 100mcg (levothyroxine) which is the cleanest synthetic thyroid medication you can get on the market and 2.5mcg Liothyronine (Cytomel). I have been on Cytomel for 12 years. If you take too much, it can lower your TSH levels too low which puts you at risk for osteoporosis. This happened to me when I was on 5mcg. Before starting Mounjaro, my endocrinologist wanted to make changes to my thyroid meds first so that I would not have a hard time with Mounjaro. It was a good thing. Then he did a lot of blood work to see if I had gluten allergies, hormone levels, blood sugar, cholesterol and more. You can make a better decision when you know what is doing on with your body. I started Mounjaro in December 2022. I have lost about 17lbs which is a miracle to me. My blood pressure is normal. My last A1C in August was down almost 1 point. I am almost in the pre-diabetic range. And yes, I do experience rebound weight but notice several reasons for this. I have other medical conditions (fibromyalgia, type 2 diabetes, migraines, PCOS, Osteoarthritis, Degenerative Disc Disease and no thyroid) as well. The rebound can happen from stress, inflammation, not eating enough carbs (I know this sounds weird but if I restrict my carbs like low keto, my body goes into starvation mode. I cannot make a pound move no matter what) and too much exercise when my body is not prepared. But after a few days to a week the weight drops off and I either maintain or slowly start losing again. For people without a thyroid, it takes a very long time to reset our bodies and lose anything. However, I am not going to lie. Taking Mounjaro hasn't been fun all of the time. On the low dose of 2.5mg, I didn't have too many problems. I noticed I started eating less and the hunger pains reduced. I did not lose anything but felt better. Then went to 5mg and that is when the weight really fell off. I lost 12lbs. But for first 2 months, my body had to get used to it. I had nausea, some dizziness and feeling weird. I had to reduce how much I ate or suffer painful GI issues. I take an anti-nausea medicine. This happens to me whenever I have to make a medication change. I have to be very very careful how my thyroid meds and levels are impacted. I do see an endocrinologist and he closely monitors everything. To me for now the benefits outweigh the nausea. I no longer have sugar cravings. I no longer snack. I have learned to not fill my plate. I can eyeball just about how much I can eat without being overfull. I have learned that I can indulge but don't have to be panicked that I will not get enough. But really, I don't care to indulge that much anymore. I no longer take insulin and repaglinide. These cause weight gain and make it difficult to lose weight. I can actually exercise and do more activities like gardening and cooking. Taking Mounjaro or Ozempic really requires medical advice from a trained medical professional. I am very skeptical by nature and careful when trying anything new especially if it interferes with thyroid hormones. I hope this helps some.

my mom, who has graves disease and no thyroid due to cancer, was on wegovy until her insurance didn't cover it anymore and had great weight loss success. However, she had to have her gallbladder removed about a year after she went off wegovy. I believe it is somehow connected to the medication but doctors didn't say why she had the severe gallbladder attack (she was hospitalized). She has now been off of it for 2 years due to it being financially inaccessible and HAS NOT GAINED ANY WEIGHT SINCE, but also stopped losing. I believe she eats better and in healthier portions than she used to, I think a lot of it has to do with her cooking for her and her husband who has type 2 diabetes. She is really good about cooking for his condition and helping him watch what he eats, and I think she adopted after she had ti go off the wegovy.

I don’t have a thyroid, I have a lot and I mean A LOT of gastrointestinal problems and now severe Gerd bc my body can not digest foods properly from no thyroid. My endocrinologist gave me a 6week trail of ozempic and I’ve watched so many videos of people complaining of gastrointestinal issues and someone with gastrointestinal problems already I’m terrified to take it. They’re injections so it’s not like I can ride through it in one day I’d have to ride it out for a week if it causes me issues and if I am getting really bad symptoms how much more damage is it doing to me internally. My endocrinology sees over 50 patients a day, so I’m no one special, I asked about it he said yeah sounds like you should try it but I don’t think he looked too far into my case to see if I’m a good candidate or not.
