Refering to Mckamey Manor as "the World's Most Blank Haunted House" is major clickbait *AND* it BENEFITS Mckamey and his Manor!! Shame on you Thiccboi!!! I knew you had very low morals and almost zero ethics but jfc this is just too much. Clickbait is already annoying and problematic, but calling that place anything but a pervert's manipulative assault grounds is disgusting dude. I personally have watched quit a few videos on Mckamey Manor and those videos proved that Mckameys claim of "World's Most Blank" was completely fraudulent and actually a part of their advertising and manipulative schemes. Their claim of "27,000 people on the wait list" was also proven false. Meat Tubs, you're so disconnected from the viewer and apparently so greedy to the point of helping a seggs predator (Mckamey) gain more notoriety, fame, and exposure. Years ago, I met Russ McKamey at the Halloween convention Scare LA (now, Midsummer Scream). No shit, he was one of the most unhinged and freakiest people I’ve ever met in my life. What got me was during the panel he was a part of, he kept insisting that his “haunt” is family friendly and they don’t even allow cursing. Another Haunter on the panel named Don Julson (Haunter out of Orange County, CA) got into it with him saying that he’s a sadist who gets off on people who he tricks into being trapped in his haunt. Russ challenged him to go through it to see for himself, and Don said he’d do it if Russ did it with him. Russ declined saying that his haunt is for “younger people” and that he’s an old man, drawing A LOT of boos from the audience, causing him to lash out.

The waiver, for those that don't look it up, even includes not holding them accountable for death, drowning, suffocation, tooth extraction, stabbing, carbon monoxide poisoning, aneurysms, and you can't quit unless THEY think you've suffered major psychological or physical trauma. Edit to add: Yes, I'm aware that a waiver likely isn't valid in a court of law, mentioning this is more so to highlight how absolutely delusional and twisted the man is to think he could ever get away with this sort of thing with a waiver. A former Marine did come close to winning, like right at the end, and when they wanted to keep going to win Russ refused and said they weren't fit to continue. He just wants an excuse to torture people, there likely wasn't ever an actual, tangible reward aside from getting mutilated within an inch of your life. I'm really sad to learn he had the opportunity to get his hands on a poor woman who likely thought he was a nice fella. Dude is a manipulative, sick liar and only lets on what he wants people to see. Russ shouldn't be permitted to exist amongst the general populance, especially not in that way as he is DEFINITELY the type of person to take things too far and accidentally kill someone. He doesn't know when to stop, even if torture is someone's kink, he doesn't know what's too much and will kill someone. Or maybe he does and he just doesn't care. Sincerely hope such a sick individual is left to rot in prison.

the document definitely wouldn't hold up in court. you cant just make a document saying you're allowed to break the law. assault is still assault even if they gave you permission to do it. any illegal substances used, are still illegal. any bodily harm caused, is still prosecutable if charges are pressed and pursued. its like assisted suicide. just because someone says they want to die, doesn't mean you're allowed to kill them.

A sport like boxing is a little different then being tied up and tortured, there are some things that you legally cannot consent to. No waiver would hold up if someone beat the shit out of you and breaks your jaw. Waivers typically cover potential harm as a consequence of an activity, not consent to DIRECT extreme bodily harm. There's a level of force and harm that exceeds your ability to consent. Unlicensed boxing for example is illegal.

TL: DR: I remember being obsessed with MckAmey Manor at a point in time in middle school when it was still a haunted house. But as soon as I reached high school me and my friend looked them up to see if their was more to it and were horrified to watch a long video of his actors basically jumping two women that looked like they were going in and out of consciousness and I stopped looking to anything more about them until this very video. I remember finding out about MckAmey Manor in middle school. I used to think it was so cool because not only did they donate (Or at least I thought b/c I’ve heard apparently he doesn’t even donate it, just gives it to his dogs) to a charity that saves race dogs, but the videos I seen way back then was like your typical haunted house, but the could pick you up and stuff (what got my attention was a clip that showed them grabbing someone and pulling them under a couch) I was fascinated with the place for a long time. But as years passed I noticed how ‘physical’ the actors got and how the disturbing the videos started to feel. (Like the ‘code names’ he gave to each video based on the person being tortured, or how they’d cut parts of the videos then cut back to people in clear intense distress and begging for it to end just for him to laugh, say no ,then cut back again.) But then I remember mentioning it to a friend about how intense I thought this specific haunted house was. He looked it up to see the promo for it then got intrigued and wanted to see more, so he clicked a newer video. I recall the mixed like of shock, disbelief, and faint horror on his face as we both began to watch it unfold, the people in the video were two women. This was my first time seeing it too so we just both watch stunned as they beat, push their heads down into puddles of water, pulled their hair, and smeared red paint all over their face before the actors posed for a photo on top of this large pipe that the girls were inside of with their heads held up by their hair that the actors on top were purposefully stepping on. They both look like they were fading in and out of consciousness and their faces were swollen. I think about that all the time and one more video. One of the few blogs that-that weirdo did that wasn’t about the haunted house. It was him walking around a horror convention, with majority of the people there he acted normal with , but then it cuts to these 2 young women (not the women in the last video mentions) talking, being friendly , upbeat and pretty sure at least one of them knew about the manor and mentioned maybe trying it. But dude takes this very creepy and weird tone where he talks about her hair and you can almost hear him getting a bit to excited about the idea of the things he was going to do to her hair. I’ve never heard someone so excited about doing stuff to destroy someone’s hair. That’s was the second last videos I’d seen in passing , the last being the other two women basically getting jumped in the forest. It sent shivers down my spine and now to see it come back around full circle to my mind in response to this terrible news. I’m really shocked he was not arrested sooner.

This is how it was for me. Had this small obsession with McKamey Manor in high school, then I saw a video from one of the survivors talking about their experiences, how they were in therapy for PTSD and anxiety, as well as physical therapy and had chronic pain because of what happened. It was horrific, and a sobering wakeup call to me about what the "haunt" and Russ McKamey was really like. Saw a sleezey comment awhile ago on a Halloween haunted house video and they had a segment about McKamey Manor. The comment or was mocking the victims who went through everything, calling them slurs and saying they could win the "money". My faith in humanity was restored when I saw everyone in the comments tearing that jerk a new asshole.

We also have a safe word, but we would be good noodles and if someone used it, we stopped and let them out. Well Russ decided to make a trip out to see us. He made it to exactly the middle. Which so happened to be the room I was working in. I was feeding people melted no bake cookies. THIS MAN WAS LIVIED because I wouldn’t let him leave my room until he ate it. The guy in the room before me had a chainsaw and heard the commotion coming from Russ. He came in ripped the chainsaw, and Russ, HE USED THE DANG SAFE WORD. After watching some of the videos of McKamey Manor, I can't shake the feeling that I'd instinctively want to fight back against the way they treat their so-called "customers." It’s not something I’d plan to do, but there’s this overwhelming urge that kicks in, this inner voice screaming to defend yourself. Seeing the way they push people to their limits, my gut reaction is to think, "You need to fight back." It seems like they specifically target people who are more submissive, and it makes me wonder how they pick their participants. If I mentioned that I used to box when I was younger, would that immediately disqualify me? It’s like they’re deliberately avoiding anyone who might resist, which raises a lot of questions about how they select their victims.

Here's what I've gleaned from 2yrs of checking into McKamey Manor "lore" and recent exposes by Reckless Ben: started out as relatively fun / harmless "home haunt" in early 2000s San Diego, eventually become an extreme haunt where some issues cropped up of ppl being harmed and that shut down his new structure near a horse ranch where he was a long-time wedding singer. He got by on Navy Recruiter Pension, side singing gig, but mainly relied on whatever wife he had at the time, so when California shut him down, he went to Tennessee in summer 2017. A good documentary called "The Art of The Scare" came out that year, and it's pretty good because it shows Russ but also how Blackout and other scare actors and haunt owners feel about Russ and his lack of safe word and more torture focus, as opposed to scaring and creatively finding ways to induce fear. But McKamey Manor got extreme in TN, with Russ recording atrocities (like dragging a guy across grass, then concrete, then grass, then more concrete for about 1/2 mile, then waterboarding him in the dirty water in a freezer, amidst other things --- which led to the guy being bedridden for 2 weeks and treated by a slew of antibiotics!!), but he chooses what his cult of followers see, like the "end review" where sometimes, these ppl are held captive until Russ can get a good "It's all great, no lawsuit here! Haha, happy times" as way to prove *consent* knowing that angry ppl who were were hurt bad enough will go to police. That's why no charges were ever brought against Russ (think of Wade Wilson filming the r*pe of a woman on her own phone, then claiming it was consensual and being acquitted). Very manipulative stuff, and no, I'm not calling Russ a serial killer/rapist, but, ironically, he's in jail for some bad stuff with a former GF. It seems like after the actors left, Russ thought it was a good idea to continue his shit show, altho solo, and that's where you see the bizarre barrel exercises and crab walking. Thank goodness for tenacious KZbinrs to get their hands on some of the most vile things Russ has done to ppl, which, tho slow-going, means that the state of Tennessee is finally investigating the crazy stuff that Russ has done to ppl in the name of "an extreme haunt." I highly recommend the Wendigoon video (altho its from 2022 and his opinion is likely not what audiences want to hear in Aug. 2024, its still informative and I love Wendigoon), The Art of The Scare, the videos by Reckless Ben and Danny Berk, and one last video by a female KZbinr I'd never watched before (she's blonde, likes cats, was in a band). I'll look it up and add as a reply later. Basically, the story of Russ McKamey and his evolution of haunts is something so crazy, it seems like a well-written but disturbing novel of an antihero who descends deeper into madness and never redeems himself.

My dad was in the navy in the early 80's, and he said back then there was an initiation for new sailors whenever they crossed the equator. Basically it was the kind of torture this guy does, minus any animals (obviously). A long tube he had to crawl through filled with sewage, and the further back in the line you started the worse it was because of how many guys threw up on their way through. he also had to crawl between the legs of other senior sailors while they whipped him with belts, shoes, etc. I don't remember everything he said he had to endure, but he's a pretty tough guy, and has seen men die overseas, yet this ritual was one of the worst experiences of his life. Actual psychological torture. Ironically the ritual was banned when women were allowed to join the navy soon after. It makes me wonder if this is the sort of thing that inspired this guy to have people pay to be tortured in a similar way.

Its clear to me that if this man was sane then the safe word would have been there from the start, there would be medical staff and care would be taken to allow people to quit at any point. However it is painfully obvious that this man is psychologically disturbed, it's incredibly likely that the whole thing was just for him to enjoy the sadistic power trip of being able to harm people without the fear of being arrested. The thing is the fact that he went after his girlfriend and went over that line makes me think that the haunted house either wasn't working as well for him to scratch the itch, or it could be a cover up for others he has abused/murdered. Not 100% sure he doesn't seem all that smart, so who knows.

we had a haunted house around the corner, but it was haunted in a different way. we all heard the horror story, a group of girls took a boy there thinking he was gonna get lucky, but they pegged him in the abandon house.

I hated hearing them say "It's not real, you know it's not real right?" because it IS real. They really ARE putting her through all the things they're doing to her - the only thing you could possibly say isn't "real" is the intent to kill but I don't even know if THAT'S appropriate to say because it very much seems to me they could so easily kill someone given the lack of medical staff and the danger/severity of their actions. If you have someone falling in and out of consciousness and you're just ignoring that giant red flag as to the person's safety, then "intent to kill" doesn't seem all that different from a total lack of concern whether the person dies.

If Russ could get away with a death clause in his waiver, he would 100% do it.
