I sit here with my thumbs hovering over the keyboard because I don't know how to properly express how amazing these last 15 min 45 seconds have been. I must say, I don't like white cars either but I would do an exception for this one. Great video, the intro was Oscar worthy and you nailed it right on the head when you said fighter jet. During your racing sequence, it kinda does sound like one. Thanks for putting sunshine in the otherwise snowy weather up here.... I mean, it wouldn't be Canada without the white stuff.

Thanks Francois! I don’t know how it makes that high pitched sound but it’s pretty unique. Maybe the turbos spinning at astronomical speeds? I can’t say I like it though and I would prefer a lower rumble. Hopefully you guys are dealing okay with the snow up there. We got almost a foot where I am so it definitely puts a damper on the filming but hey, at least that means I get to take a vacation soon.

Excellent video bro! Yeah, the white color isn't bad, but I like a vibrant color, too. That 720 is a beast! I guess it's probably pointless to do a comparison with a 765LT since the 720S is a monster in its own right. By the way, the 720/765 are the best looking McLarens that they've ever made.

The first real review of this car. I have heard nothing but great things about this car and yes the pros far out weighs the cons. I do feel the same regarding the quirks you mentioned. I guess they don’t matter when you’re spending that amount of money on a car. I’m not there yet but I am sure I wouldn’t care about those quirks then either.

I’m shocked this car is under $300k stock and is still faster than the P1 This car looks amazing and it’s crazy mclaren took it to a whole new level with the 765LT The lackluster takeoff from a normal take off say from red light is due to the DCT, the TTRS has the same issue Wish the brakes were firmer The track mode is so cool in this car, I love how the dash folds in Oh man the mask RIP I love how elegant the car looks, the aerodynamics are so on-point. Nah I love the spoiler being up 😂 Oh man it’s expensive to maintain these for sure I love how driver-focused the interior is, very similar to the TTRS, nothing distracting you from the road. The center console door looks cool Those roof windows are dope, love that I also love how it weighs only 3,100 lbs, nearly unheard of today. Oh man you brought the 720 to racemotive, so that’s why I thought I recognized the white 720 I saw, since you gave me an early teaser, thanks for that So much power and so little weight, crazy. I love how perfect the traction is. Damn rip launch control Holy shit that thing is fast I like the way it sounds kinda, it doesn’t sound unique from any V8 really, but the P1 definitely does Hopefully these results are good That’s crazy wtf 3.63 5.42 60-130 is pretty crazy, really awesome times This is legit the BEST supercar you can get for how cheap it is, that’s why I see so many of them. Smart people buy this thing I see the X6 and lotus sitting outside 👀 LOL no white cars, nice sweater by the way Oh shit I remember when that button slipped lmao Ghost detector 720S I’ve seen so many electronic issues with the 720 it’s not even funny. Alex Choi had so many issues with his, definitely a factor in buying it or not I honestly don’t get the whole spaceship vibe from this car, I’m not sure why, I guess my taste in cars is even further in the future of design than what I’ve seen so far Hell of a car man, maybe we’ll see one in your garage? 🤔 Or maybe that Z06 👀 It’s more of a hybrid, a supercar but also a comfort car, and you and I relate on not liking the comfort part. Is it faster than the P1? Interesting. The 765LT is definitely a bucket list car and I think that’s the one where it will be worth the jump into this platform. I would say that I didn’t experience that kind of lackluster take off in many modern DCT cars. Yes you can sort of feel it but in the 720, it’s pretty obvious. You can set it up so that the dash doesn’t fold in on track mode, which is also cool because I like the display it uses for it. Plus it gives you much more information which is handy. If you buy one of these, you MUST have the extended warranty because it’ll save your ass every time some BS goes down. And it’s honestly mostly electronic. You’ll definitely see a Z06 in my garage before I jump back to a supercar. I need to give GM one more shot before I abandon them forever. Glad you enjoyed the video!

@John Benjamin-Alexander the only P1 that has run under 7 minutes is the P1 LM which is not street legal. So until you have proof that the base P1 is faster than a 720S, your argument is invalid. I’m going based on what people on the track have actually told me from experience, basically that the 720 has an edge over the P1 when it comes to racing on the track but apparently they’re quite even in a straight line. Have a seat buddy, your ego is getting the best of you.

Dude this summer , i will take pics of every super car i see that is down , lets see how many are ferrari, lambos, mclaren , just remember my nsx is all done by science of speed, stock was 0-60 2.9 sec , quartermile at 11.1 at 573hp and with my science of speed 0-60 at 2.5 sec at 10.6 quartmile with 700hp . Let the games begin but my favorite mclaren was the 720s but i was scared if something does go wrong i know ill have to sell my house to fix the car.

5 second 60-130 times used to be like the holy grail of racing. It's ridiculous that a factory car can do such a feat. 4 seconds is like being in heaven, and I imagine a tune and DP will put this car there easily.

There are guys getting into the 3’s with these cars, I actually know one who is in the low 4’s in the 60-130 range with his 1,000hp 720S, pretty insane numbers, and the car weighs almost nothing for 2020

It was a pleasure to drive around in a McLaren 570S for day a couple months ago. I agree i was amazed how comfortable it is to drive and how well i fit being 6'2 260+. I could see myself owning a McLaren one day but just worried about reliability.

Great video - I think you would be happier with a 991.2 GT3 RS - or the new 992 GT3 for far less $ and no worry of reliability. If you haven't yet, drive a GT3 with the 4.0L engine. It solves all of the McLaren issues and delivers all the rawness you want.

True but there’s different levels to the “rawness”. A GT3RS might be too much and a normal GT3 might not have close to same performance as the 720s. A GT3RS is really if you want to bully the track where a 720s is for crazy straight pulls and looks. Most 720s won’t have problems.

Nice car! We did fully review 720s last year (performance package) but it’s not good daily for sure. Unreliable electronics, transmission have issues from N to D/R position which can cause very bad accidents . It’s amazing track car . Cities are too small for the power of the car

I have owned three McLaren 720 s's.no major reliability issues Yes a little bit of electrical clicks but usually it's a reset of the engine or restart.The worst thing that happened was a panel popped out and had to be put back in That was it

for the person who said that the Porsche turbo S beats the McLaren 720S in the quarter mile most of the time yes if the 720S does not launch properly because it has too much power with wheel spin. But if you have proper conditions on a track with the right wheels on the McLaren the McLaren will beat the Porsche as well and the quarter mile as well as the rollrace. So in effect the turbo S is slower than the McLaren.The Porsche has never done a sub 10 second quarter mile time Brooks I believe did a 9.75 quarter mile time stock in the McLaren

i really like the mclarens lambos ferrari they are awesome cars and they are damn fast but i just had to buy a nsx , even though i have money to spend for repairs but i dont want to dish out more money, u guys heard the saying, the rich gets richer and the poor gets poorer, i still have a 95 honda accord with 790,000 kms still going but had to put it down. I think unless you are tracking the car the 720S is better than the 765.You can dress up the 720S with a kit to make it look like the 765.You can also throw a tune in it and if you want to make it crazy sick put pure turbos in it. Even for that money it would still be less than a 765 I think.I'm talking about a spider version as well this way you have the spider and the added boost of power. I think the 720S also has better gear ratios. For regular driving. You get the best of both worlds for the street 720S is great for the street 765 is only shining on a track. It is not that much faster than the 720S. And again if you turn the 720S it'll be faster than the 765.of course you can turn the 765 but that's apples to oranges
