Thanks for this info, have lots of trouble dealing with JP and Blanka as a grappler main. It's also possible to EX-air-SPD Blanka Ball, though the timing is extremely tight. I've only pulled it off in training mode.

Don't have the game yet, but am glad to learn this info ahead of time. I'd heard Guile & JP were really tough, & Marissa had some stuff to look out for. Solid info on holding back w/parry. Maybe parry timing isn't too rough. Good vid.

Just so u guys know, against JPs projectiles, and ur a ken player U can easily punish with Run flaming tatsu if he’s spamming, If he does block all, U can jump out of a grab attempt, but if he jabs and u try to jump u will get hit

Hi! Liking the tips videos, they are useful for a lot of players, especially early in the games lifecycle. Just one note, adding timestamps to the video would make it a lot better to watch, since you can skip to the next section if you already know of one/several of these. Better viewer experience :)

Additional tip i learned last night, you can just DI when Honda tries to headbutt from fullscreen. As long as you press the button before he connects, you'll win. He doesnt recover fast enough to do something else. Not sure about his slam or if it has armor break properties

I think you have to start the DI really early otherwise he can DI back at you. I think. It's still quite hard.

Heavy and medium headbutts are punishable with DI. A light headbutt from anything other than point blank range leaves time for a counter DI from Honda. Buttslam is plus 1 and can cross up depending on the version so best not drive impacting it.

He just said don’t drive impact because he is expecting you to and you will be punished. Players who spam cheesy gimmicks lab your responses and drive impact is the clear response

To people looking for a bit more about anti-JP stuff, I have a couple of small advice I’ve heard here and there, I’m not sure if it’s 100% true, but it’s helped me a bit. Against the demon mixup: The strike version (high, low, or mid) is done qcf+k, in English the voice line is “GO”. If demon is chest height and has arm up, it’s overhead. If demon is low to ground it’s mid. If demon is touching ground, it’s low. If you don’t want to worry about the mix, just hold forward to get as much distance and then parry. The throw version is qcf+k, English voice line is “AWAKEN” (I think, or it’s something close to that). This one is chest height but has arms reached out to throw you, this has lot more recovery than strike version, so you are almost always + after forward jumping ( assuming you not in range for jump in to reach and punish). Against the spike: it is +, so be careful after blocking it. However, JP must choose what distance it comes out immediately, as the distance is determined by the button strength, he can NOT change his mind. As a result, you can stand in the range of a bigger button strength then use a quickly forward moving attacks to mess him up, I like to do dr into a medium. This must be done on PREDICTION however, so he can easily just wait. Against lvl2 super, the order is mid, high, low, high. Sorry for huge comment, hopes this helps little bit

They are mostly concerned with learning your own. One move in particular that’s causing me bother is Lily’s wind buffed OD condor spire. It leaves her point blank, eats up drive rush, is +2. Help! 😅 Also JP actually stands for just parry 👍🏻😂

Drive Impact is not the cover all solution people thought it was. I'm already seeing the usage of it go down significantly because people are figuring out to watch for it. It's good against long range, non-canceling pokes (which is honestly why I think Chun has stance cancel because she uses those so much) and against sloppy fireballs thrown from too close. It is not something to just throw out.

Basically too many people are trying to drive impact things, when simpler solutions are better. Especially complaints on Honda and Blanka. Also for those comlaining about those moves, they are both airborne. If you have a DP like move, any version of it wins

Big fact I learned about blanka ball lately was that it loses to air invincible moves. Still kinda requires a hard read to hit the input in time, but do it enough times and even stubborn players will learn that its not gonna work as much

For heavy blanka ball you can also jump back with a cross up from full screen and get a punish counter :)

Can you clarify about JP's zoning again? Do you mean that you can dash through his projectiles? Is it because there is a window before his projectiles will materialize when it gets near you and you can dash through before it materialize? How do you for example with characters like Ken or Ryu that does not have a move that pass through fireballs or mobility skill fast enough to deal with JP consistently?

Yeah pretty much what you are saying. I would try Ken's run or a drive rush although i am not sure either are quick enough to get you out of the way. But at least you have a fireball you can cancel the shadows with

Parry his fireballs and move forward, if you get a perfect parry, you can cancel it into drive rush to close the distance if you're close enough, you can do the parry and immediately press a button after, so if you get a perfect parry that move will come out and punish him Try not to DI or jump unless you're 100% sure he's about to throw a fireball, specially when Shoryukens are invincible to air moves from it's 1st frame Honestly, a lot of people don't actually have patience to play a fireball character all that well, if you just parry a few fbs in a row and press forward, there's a very high chance the Ryu will get impatient and do something stupid, you just have to remember to stay calm yourself, since dealing with fireballs is legitimately stressful Also be aware that in neutral, there's a specific range where Ryu is too close to comfortably throw fireballs but too far to use his strong cancelable pokes, that's where most non fireball characters tend to beat him

As a Manon player, I probably use it a lot more than I should haha. I've found it to be pretty good when mixing it up with the heavy kick version, which is an overhead attack.

You can actually DI Marisa superman puch, but it has to be really early on the animation. Basically, when she starts to move up, you can DI and have a full punish on her. Both punching her out of it and DI early loses to the OD Superman punch, so be carefull I'm having a blast with Marisa, super cool character

You can just do a normal throw to counter the Marisa DP, way better than jab, faster than jab on half the cast and 1f slower on the fastest characters, and gives you advantage (and more damage)

Except the gigantic problem with that is that Marisa...becomes AIRBORNE during that move. You're not throwing her on reaction to that move, because by the time you visually recognize it she'll be in the air already and unthrowable. If you happened to throw her out of the startup, then you just got lucky that the Marisa was doing that move right next to you for whatever reason.

You can DI heavy Blanka Ball as long as you do it late enough. In the clip you are doing it too early so it whiffs.
