Hello from Sacramento! Glad you moved here. Funny, I'm so glad fast food has realized that vegans like to go out too. I haven't had fast food in decades when I brought home some nachos from Taco Bell and got deathly ill after I ate it. Eating plant based for nine years, I crave good food that actually tastes good. I love a bean burger that has chunks of beans! I love eating massive amounts of food and staying slim. I'm glad all fast food chains have something for me, but I have no desire to rush out and try them ~ but I do love when someone tries them and lets me know which is the best. Janet

Howdy!!! I didn't know that's where you were located. That's cool. Yeah, I eat mostly grains and beans in my daily life, but I like a good splurge every now and then. I didn't feel terrible after, and I think only having the burger with nothing else really helped to keep it from being a total gut bomb. I prefer the bean and rice burritos at Taco Bell to pretty much any other fast food, but it's good to know these are there if I need them.

It's so coincidental you just posted this video because we just bought some Beyond Meat stock the other day!; I was super curious if you were going to like this McPlant Burger and am so glad you have it a thumbs up! The impossible burger I think is better and doesn't have that fake char-taste like Beyond, but the Beyond Burger is non-gmo ❤️ Your burger looked good though! Not in Canada yet but some of the competition has a plant version of either a beef burger or chicken burger or tenders/nuggets. I was NEVER a fan of meat hamburgers and would go hungry before having to eat one. Now I can eat the plant versions as they don’t remind me of the real thing (aversion to the taste). Having said that, the pandemic has resulted in ridiculously expensive take out options. Some plant options are more expensive than the meat version!! The high cost alone is enough for me to stick with a home cooked healthier option wherever possible. Looking forward to the salad video. I crave salads in after a long winter, especially in Canada. Good to see you back filming/posting.

I've had the Beyond Burger cooked at a friend's home on a grill and it was really spectacular! I was so impressed. I'd be glad to have it again. As for the Best Foods Vegan Mayonnaise, if you are looking for other stores in the SF Bay Area to buy it, you might try Nob Hill Foods (also known as Raley's in some neighborhoods). The first time I bought it, that's where I got it, although the regular price is probably somewhat better at Target. It's a great vegan mayo. Happy eating and cooking! Thanks of the video.

I asked the same thing about Carls Jr and Burger king with their plant based options, but I think they are shying away from 'vegan' and sticking with 'plant based' because it allows them to not really tackle the shared surfaces problem. That being said, if you actually say Vegan Whopper they will (usually) microwave it instead of heating it on the grill.

Beyond Meat designed their products to appeal to meat eaters, not vegans. When meat eaters order one of these, they reduce the demand for cow flesh which results in decreased demand and (everything else) fewer cows being bred into existence for a miserable, short life. What's the Vegan TS?
@randydarklight2 жыл бұрын
In Germany you get the McPlant with vegan "Cheese" and vegan "Mayo". But still..... hundreds of very unhealthy ingredients.

I'm sad we don't get the accouterments here... hundreds, huh?

Tee Hee! I'm just not interested if you're coming at me with it's not healthy. You make me laugh so much! 🤣😂🤣 You also make it sound good. I might try one. 💚

Hey, Monson Made This.

I like the impossible burger… I really don’t like the “flavor/smell” profile of ground beyond meat.

Thanks for checking in. I'm doing well. I'm probably going to be (I already have?) stepping away for a bit just to get things more settled here. For as long as I've had the channel, my mind has been on a constant loop of: What are you going to make next? Why aren't you filming this? When are you going to film a video again? I need to shut that voice off for a bit and focus that energy on my day-to-day life here. Overall, I'm great. Just freeing up some space.

@@MonsonMadeThis HI Michael, I'm glad to read this response from you and to know that you're ok. I've missed seeing new posts from you, but I totally get it. I used to write a cooking blog and it was impossible to ever get a bite of hot food because I was always taking a picture of it! Stay healthy and well in your new home!

I'm upset about some pizzas (Sweet Earth) and "chicken" pot pies in which the faux-meat elements are vegan, BUT they still contain milk, eggs, or dairy cheese. So vegans beware, don't trust that some vegan ingredients indicate (as one might assume) that the entire item is vegan. IMHO sneaky and deceitful.
@MonsonMadeThis2 жыл бұрын
Totally. And the tricky use of "Plant Based"... The McPlant posters, with mayo and cheese clearly visible use that language. Not cute.

The Burger King Impossible Burger is light years better than the McPlant. Tried my first McPlant yesterday. Totally underwhelmed. The BK Impossible is really good. No comparison.
@MonsonMadeThis2 жыл бұрын
At this point, they're all just a burger to me. I couldn't really tell a major difference. When I could get 2 Impossible Whoppers for about $8, that was a win. Prices need to drop ASAP for them to really catch on. Same price will truly tell.
