Rooting for the little guy! 🥰 Meanwhile, I’m on an MD Fish Tanks binge like it's the latest Netflix series I’ve been sleeping on. Fingers crossed I catch the update before I turn into a pufferfish myself! 🐡 This tank is basically a 5-star pufferfish resort! ❤

It’s so cool to see how different fish species behave in their respective tanks. Some fish you’ve shown in the past tended to wander around their hiding spots while these guys are absolutely enjoying their wide open swimming space at the foreground. It’s so nice to see the setup research pay off

Those fish are so cool. Fish cam at the end was great to see their spots. And the scape wasn’t so bad either 😅

Good to hear and occasionally see Kate! Puffers have eyes which are so expressive in their own sort of way. I love them to death, and glad to see that another species has made a home in your gallery. As always, another smashing good video!

You need to worm the puffers as if they were cats or dogs. Skinny puffers usually mean they have worms. You can use panacur to worm them.

Never even heard of Congo puffers. My brother had another rare puffer, the absolute behemoth MBU! I say rare becuase its known in hobby but its size, about 12 inches in length it grew and they can get up to 22in so he had to give it away as his 75gallon was already massive in his apartment. Great video, thanks.

Can we get an update on the lil guy at the back? Lil Pete the puffer, think he should be called Pete as he’s tiny in a nod to red dwarf where Pete the canary turns into a t-Rex 😂 In all seriousness absolutely love this tank, the elevation changes and depth to allow for hidy holes as well as the sand sort of grazing area, amazing tank that’ll allow for exhibition of natural behaviour! Top job MD!

Fingers crossed 🤞 hoping the other puffers don’t break out with ich since the turkey baster was used and dipped into the puffer fish tank with ich prior to feeding the clean puffers. It’s usually easy to treat, but still highly contagious 😷 Looks great, and def loved the hardscape for this set up. Can’t wait to see these guys grow in!

I saw these in the shop when I visited last weekend, I knew you had already bought them but really wanted one, I’ve been after them for ages and they never have anything like that in my area. Luckily Taunton is only an hour or so from me so not too far to go when I am after new fish. I wish they did saltwater as well because I currently go to Cadbury for most of my marine shopping! Awesome set up you’ve done for them though 👍

The Africa tank would look good as a natural, planted tank with a layer of that striking, red clay at the bottom, then the rest of the substrate so you could get some of that color in - if you like seeing the various layers. My area, southeastern US, has the same kind of iron-rich, clay soil that makes for striking substrate layers. One of these days I've gotta do a local landscape tank with rainbow shiners & various native plants... 🤔 (ETA: both continents shared the same mtn range for millions of years before they separated when pangea broke apart.)

Gorgeous, I'm really enjoying the planted rock barrier and sandy front look in recent builds. To bring out their best behavior I recommend live earthworm as a fun treat for both puffer groups to hunt, even a piece will be picked apart by the acara. We sell them at bait shops and some grocery stores in mini refrigerators since they need to be kept cool (*Kate will not enjoy finding).:]
