Would like to see a review from you guys of the new Citroen Oli when it comes out next year (I’m sure you’ve already seen the YT teasers of it) but I have the feeling you’ll keep Elton because you’re having too much fun going down narrow twisty streets impassable for cars to traverse. That’s the best the thing about your channel; the restaurant reviews are an added bonus. Keep up the good work!

Thanks Norman. I’d probably need a licence for the Oli?
@thorbjrnhellehaven57662 жыл бұрын
@@MeandMonAmi it seems like the Oli will be about 1000 kg. Even if most cars are way heavier, it's still more than twice too heavy for the L6e-B class (aka. sans permis). So, yes, you'll need a normal license for it.

Brilliant comedy with fabulous views and a daring driving exploration accompanied by an inspirational choice of songs (which I always have to look up on Spotify)!. A smattering of double-entendres speaking of which so glad Elton got over the skids as did Mr Boo a few episodes ago 😲 T-shirts a good idea I think either as a single or joint purchase as suggested. Great to continue the Belle Époque adventure and enjoy more laughs and smiles! Good it was just Elton getting stuck in a medieval moat and not his rubber band that popped. What was it 'that AMI-care' suggested, Mr. Boo do, give a push? The Citroen Ami seems the perfect vehicle to explore and enjoy the Riviera, and hopefully if I by the time I might make it there, there will be 'Me and Mon Ami' "Riviera Challenge AMI and flat rentals to make the visit fun magical and affordable! It would be fun to see theme-wrapped namesake Ami's such as, 'Johnny', 'Grace', 'Winston', 'Jacqueline', ' Brigitte', ' Cary', 'Gordon', '007' and even 'Hitch' prowling the coast and mountain villages. When I saw this in the video previous to this one I did think that the left rear wheel had lost traction because of the camber of the road, and as it was spinning faster than the right the differential had then put all the power to the left rear wheel and nothing to the right rear. Maybe one thing better than driving through a little village is walking through it. I recall when Tim used to walk around Villefranche, Antibes and Ferrat sharing his observations, insights, recollections and frustrations. The appearance of Mr Boo was always a treat with his bright eyes, sangfroid and fluency in French and Italian. I enjoyed eavesdropping on chats with locals, sharing the lunch table and hearing comments about food and prices--an expat as insider on the Riviera. Now the show is dominated by the car (travels and travails of a Citroen Ami), everyplace is viewed through a windshield, and Tim and Mr Boo have become supporting actors. It's as though Mr Toad had driven off and forgotten Mole, Ratty, Badger and Halloween.

@@MeandMonAmi it's realy entertaining and enjoyable how you travel arround being able to ride on free charging, while in other ways kind of annoying that you make a big deal about it, because charging isn't that expensive anyway, and "glorifying" free charging strengthens the impression amongst EV-haters that EV drivers are parasites, because someone has to pay for the power eventually, and they don't get free fuel. I think most free public charging are free because handling payments would add significantly to the cost, so they decide to offer the convenience for free, because they know it is a decision factor to some people. I rarely use public charging, even if they are available and free, because even with the range I gain, I have to plug in at home, and when I don't actually need it. My battery is 10× larger than you, while I have only about 5× your range, because the consumption is a 2×. Here's my take on it, with some positive and negative, and general thoughts: + free public charging is nice, - spend time handling the cable to connect/disconnect - blocking the spot for someone that actually needs it. * still have to top up at home, because I didn't spend enough time there. * paying for all charging at home isn't too expensive compared to inconvenience with cables, and to others with smaller batteries that actually needs the charge. When/if we get an Ami, when we want a second vehicle, I think we'll still mostly rely on home charging, because it would be more of a neighbourhood commute, but of course the shoter range will make public charging more important.

What went wrong was the car on three wheels and the differential (Trying to sound technical) letting the wheel spin?

I think just one wheel spinning in the central gutter of the street

Love it. TBH I largely got it because we use it to control the cameras in filmic pro and the app on my old watch wasn’t reliable enough as the screen wasn’t flat so I couldn’t press it reliably whilst driving…first world problems but it’s made filming much easier! (I can also see it in bright sunshine which I couldn’t before!)
