Being a hunter myself in my younger days I have an enormous respect for the methods that Steve is using with both Bryan and Joe. It isn't about the killing it's all about the experience of being out there and tuning yourself into the world around you. I could go for days without firing off a shot or not taking the shot because the animal touched something deep inside me. I wish that I was young enough and able enough to be out there again.

This is one of my favorite parts of MeatEater series. Taking someone who’s never been out before and they are taking it like a kid on his first hunt. They’re having fun and taking everything in, the emotions Joe & The Kid showed in their harvests remind me of the first time I went and the first time I took someone deer hunting. Amazing adventure they got to go on, as opposed to sitting on a feeder in Texas 😁

I have followed both men in their respective careers for quite a while, and after enjoying this incredible video, I have so much more respect for both guys despite having a lot to begin with. Rogan took this experience as serious as any of Steve's guests; he more than paid his dues & put in a genuine effort to earn his opportunity & a chance to be successful; and perhaps most impressive, he dropped his first buck with a single shot having NEVER hunted before, like he was a seasoned hunter & experienced marksman. Friggin' impressive! And Steve held another masterclass in pretty much every aspect of what it takes to be a successful hunter, & why he is so damn good at what he does. And he ain't done done - there's a magnificent meal of venison to be had!

i know this videos old but theres a few things i noticed that maybe not everyone did. first off steve and ryan carrying the loaded packs with the gear with joe and bryan carrying the rifles. reminds me of hunting with my father with him carrying the heavy packs of gear and me following with the gun. only shows me that steve was really in it to show these guys the bright sides of hunting than the miles and miles of covering country with a heavy pack.

I’ve been deer hunting about 15 times, I’ve only gotten 2 does and one button buck (it was my second time hunting overall and my uncle and his buddy helped learn to identify deer better afterwards). 15 hunts and only 3 deer, still haven’t gotten that nice 8pt buck but I’m still in love with hunting. I go hog hunting more since it’s really invasive to my area and my neighbor lets me do it his land for free.
