Been practicing for four years and still haven’t surpassed 10-11 seconds. That past years progress has been especially slow. This is so helpful!!

Your videos are AMAZING! Utilising motion graphics is really what has been missing from movement-content. Keep it coming! It would be lovely to also get a similar video of a basic handstand alignment and different entries to it.

I have accidently done a one arm handstand for 5 secs. This is great I can learn doing this on purpose instead. Controlled hopefully

I fell off my motorcycle 15 days ago and had to stop doing handstands. Ten days resting after six months straight with no rest were enough to accidentally doing a handstand with just the fingers of one hand. Pretty close to OAHS.

I got the normal handstand from zero to 10 seconds in two weeks so I thought one-arm would be in the bag within like half a year....lol. Been training it for 8 months now and my best hold is 4 seconds, it makes me wanna cry

That's amazing sir! I have a quick question, I can hold a clean handstand for like 25sec but I do lack shoulder and hips mobility so my handstand isn't 100% straight, according to your knowledge and experience, do you think I can start learning the one arm handstand or not yet? And if not yet what do you recommend me to work on / Improve? thanks in advance!

Love the video!, i myself am trying hard to get the one arm handstand, but i have very fragile wrists,a nd they limit me a lot. I have a very good handstand and can do multiple HSPU's and multiple consecutive Presses. I am breakdancing for 2 years now and have clean one hand freezes for like 3seconds but i really want the one arm! Do you have any tips for my wrists? (i am 17 and unfortunatly not rich enough tà buy your toolkit :( . )

Just seen this. Wrists are a fiddly one that is highly individual. Ping me a DM on Instagram or email and I'll send you some stuff for it.

HEY🙋🏻! I have a question. Is it necessary to learn side split for one arm handstand?
@Matthewismith4 жыл бұрын
Good question The more you can straddle your legs (side split) the lower your centre of mass. A lower centre of mass drastically reduces the difficulty of a one arm handstand (by a huge amount). It's roughly 3x easier to hold a wide straddle than it is to hold legs together - for such a hard skill that is a massive difference. Therefore the better your active side split, the easier time you will have learning the one arm handstand. If you can't side split, I would highly recommend training it to help your one arm progress. It will also open up other more advanced skills such as one arm flags and press to one arm later on.

HOLY SHIT THIS IS REALLY SOME GOOD STUFF😂😂 I've been training calisthenics for 4 years(not too seriously and constant) and these last 2 months were the best 2 months training of my life and after 2 years trying to archive the on arm handstand... today I saw like... this tutorial and one from another channel... I did my wrist warmup, tried and... yeah that's it, I did my first ever 5 seconds one arm handstand hold 😂😂😂 ps: later I'll watch also the press to handstand one, maybe I'll archive that one also after watching the video😂

Thank your for explaining it dude. But just some questions does a regular two arm handstand needs to be atleast 60 sec or over 60 sec before ever even thinking of beginning One arm handstand training as the first question. Second how much does your handstand tool kit cost is it pay once have it forever available or is subscription based?

One arm handstand is also shoulders strenght ? Some people use to say it's just Ballance but I think they are wrong and you need a lot of strenght on the shoulder if you wanna Ballance it.
@Matthewismith5 жыл бұрын
It's not so much the deltoids as it upper back and trapezius. High strength yes, put it's super specific so general strength training provides little carryover for it.
@joaosw15185 жыл бұрын
@@Matthewismith yeah, I feel my shoulders burning when I'm trying to hold it with one arm . Should I attempt one arm handstand on wall to get stronger shoulders ?
@Matthewismith5 жыл бұрын
Sounds more likely to be bad shoulder placement. If you've got IG send me a DM @matthewismith and I can take a look at a video. I suspect you're either planching or flagging too much but I'll see on video.
