undergrad med school?.?.....
@shreyasiyer6287 жыл бұрын
Branden Anderson in most countries around the world, med school is at an undergraduate level unlike the graduate model in USA and Canada. The Medical Degree is an undergraduate degree. We don't need to do any Bachelors Degree to get into med school as med school itself is a Bachelor's Degree. To get into med school we have to give entrance tests which are really really hard. Most European, African and Asian countries follow the undergraduate model of Medical education. We are then awarded a medical Degree at the end of our undergraduate med school program. For example in some countries med students are awarded a MBBS (Bachelor of medicine and bachelor of surgery) Degree. After we complete med school which is around 6 years, we start our Residency. Hope it helped!

@failyourwaytothetop8 жыл бұрын
laine L We all know she has the brains for it. The vanity of our culture as viewed through Hollywood though demands that the plastic surgeons themselves be immaculate physically. Jenny has a perfect face with no cracks or creases even when she smiles. That's a tall bill to fill. I think she'd be a success as a plastic surgeon catering to Hollywood stars. They'd look at her face and say "I want it like that."
@Ari-zo7ve8 жыл бұрын
+Sine Analysis where did you pull this from? Most plastic surgeons that I've come in contact with are just like everyone else-- wrinkled and stressed. Reputation is the biggest thing for me/my mom/grandma and basically everyone I've talked to about this. We don't give a shit what they look like, since any surgery done on their face was done by another surgeon.

Have PNWU students matched into integrated plastics? Or generally Gen Surg -> Plastics fellowship? Is plastics something you're interested in? I'm applying to PNWU this upcoming summer! :)
@drjennale8 жыл бұрын
There are quite a few people who matched into general surgery and I think one went on to be a neuro surgeon. I am not sure if anyone went into plastics.
@chorong9608 жыл бұрын
Hi Jenny, I thoroughly enjoy your videos:) just one question, I have keloids myself on my ears and I was wondering is it possible to get them completely removed with just steroid injections or surgery? I heard some people get surgery done and they grow back? Thank you!
@drjennale8 жыл бұрын
I would first need to know the mechanism of injury. - If a plastic surgeon has surgically removed your keloids in the past and yet they came back - then I would inject them with steroids. - If you have never tried surgically removing them before, then a plastic surgeon might choose to go the surgery route in order to allow your skin a chance to heal correctly.
@chorong9608 жыл бұрын
+Jenny Le Thanks so much Jenny! I got them by failing to do anything when my ears got infected from the piercings haha

you might want to go see a plastic surgeon and get their opinion. Chances are they will be about to help you get rid of it or at least minimize it.

Hello..you said the PC is concave cutting for tissue but you suggest using a PS (convex side cutting)? Can you explain that? :)
@drjennale8 жыл бұрын
Rebekah When the cutting edge is on the concave side, based on directionality, you can easily cut through the tissue you are trying to suture
@MedaPeutics8 жыл бұрын
Wow, I guess I was assuming the cutting would be easier when the blade is convexly setting in a tool---thats good to know. I start Med 1 next year!

I am loving your videos! Are you thinking to go into dermatology? Or just enjoying the rotation?
@drjennale8 жыл бұрын
I usually do a video on every rotation that I complete. I like to share what I've learned and maybe just a give a little insight to what medical school is like. Lots of people just had questions about dermatology so I thought I'd make a second video answering all those questions.
@boshraly78748 жыл бұрын
hi, I live in Canada and im in 11th grade. and advice on what I should be doing now that would help me get into med school or help me in med school? p.s I love your vids and your really pretty
@bellefeu49338 жыл бұрын
I'm not exactly sure how the system works in Canada, if it's similar or not, but KEEP YOUR GRADES UP. The #1 most important thing when you are going into college is maintaining a 4.0, not a 3.5, not a 3.75, a 4.0. Study for 100's on exams so when you mess up or see something weird, you still get a 93 or 95. When you get into sophomore year (so you can have a good grasp on just school for one year, and get good at it), start looking into your EC's (extra curricular's) like volunteering, shadowing, clinical experience, research, etc. Then, you have to take the MCAT 1 year before you plan on heading too med school (so spring of your junior year) unless you want to wait and take a gap year. This is because it takes a while for applications to med school to be processed, ~1 year. Knowledge comes from me being a Senior pre-med student, heading off to med school next year.
@boshraly78748 жыл бұрын
+Alexander Dorman thanks for the advice! what im thinking is to enter pharmacy then apply for med school instead of taking pre med for about four years.. so idk if its a good idea but I hope it is. and thank you for replying
