Rupert is an absolute rectification in a twisted tangled path to self-realization. Many of us have been sincere for release from identifying with mind and emotions, and have literally tortured ourselves fasting, depriving, traveling to holy places, studying religions and meditation, purification, kriyas, the esoteric, and have come up battle-worn and empty. And, this kind, intelligent, brilliant, benevolent English gentleman appears, and compassionately deciphers the ancient, laborious Wisdom of the Ages into simple plain perfect-grammared English, that illuminates all questions and allows the once weary wayfarer satisfaction. I thank Rupert Spira for demystifying the mysterious and placing it into our laps where we might observe the obvious.

I was intellectually interested in the movie analogy, but it did create a sort of hopelessness in me because when I watch a movie, I absolutely cannot separate from the characters. I can't watch anything scary or dark, it causes painful feelings. Everything emotional on the screen enters my emotions...

as i extend my mediation periods my body becomes engulfed with tremours, more intense on the neck, swinging my head side ways, up and down. it has started to be prevalent at the all the other times when i'm just relaxing, it's almost like my body wants to tense up whenever i relax so these tremours come about. anybody has an explanation on this? as a side note i've discovered i' had anxiety for a long time and i read that it's one of the things that induce tremours.

Would you please explain how you were able to purchase the series which includes this meditation? Thank you!
@dba42923 жыл бұрын
@@MarthaSandersBrandt I will be more than happy to. This series is from Rupert's at-home retreat in November 2020. This is the number 2/5 in the series of videos one could purchase from his website. I bought the whole series that included 5 videos for download and I have them on my computer in a folder. They are excellent and I didn't mean to come across as rude to everyone reading this, it is just that I paid a substantial amount of money for access to this and the four other videos now one of them is free here on KZbin, it just didn't sit right with me. Dear Martha, tried as I did I could not find a direct link to this series, and it seem his website has changed over the last couple of weeks. I was no longer able to find this series, or at least nothing I could direct-link you to. I think if you email his support staff, and explain you would like to purchase his At-Home November 2020 retreat that includes this video they will be most accommodative. If you wish, I would be more than happy to do a better search but I think his website master and staff might be more of a help than I can at this point. All the best from me.

Talking, talking, talking. Your words are a buffer between self and Self. You maintain duality throughout this 'meditation'. Sooner or later, we must meet the silence.

He’s so wrong! ‘We cannot derive continuity from that which is constantly changing’. The change is patterned and follows laws that are constant. There’s plenty of continuity there. And also there is memory….without which I would argue there can be no continuity because without it there would be no way to know that what is present now, was also present before. Memory is essential to the apprehension of change ie. experience, pattern ie. reality, it is the medium in which we abstract time and space, at the centre of which is the still, unchanging, singularity we call the self .

But that is what he is saying. The self is subject to continual change, but the presence of awareness is unchanging.
@oneofthepeoplehere3 жыл бұрын
If you look at your experience, what you are saying is a fine sounding theory, but it's simply not what happened. The sense you have of self, the voice that calls yourself "I" has sat in the same seat now as when you were 5, 7, 14 years old and on. It is the same I now as when you hated broccoli to when you came to appreciate it. The I feels the same because it is the same. It was not affected by all of those changes. You don't intellectually, aided by memory and the fact that changes are incremental, logically deduce that you are the same person because you remember each step in succession, you have just said "I" no matter what. You will continue to say "I" no matter what. It doesn't refer to the events, the likes or dislikes, or the state of the body. You can wake up from a coma with amnesia, false memories to boot, and a radically altered body, and you will still mean the same thing when you say "I". Heck, imagine that you are an entirely different human being. The same "I" is still there.
