The Kevin Richardson Wildlife Sanctuary’s mission is to provide a self-sustaining African carnivore sanctuary for the purposes of wild species preservation through education, awareness and funding, especially pertaining to the rapid decline of large carnivores in Africa due to habitat loss, human-predator conflict, unscrupulous hunting, disease and their illegal trade.
On this channel, The Lion Whisperer films the majority of his footage using a GoPro camera, allowing viewers to get as close as possible to the lions, leopards and hyenas at the sanctuary.
Kevin Richardson hopes to provide viewers insight into the lives of these beautiful creatures and in turn, by watching the videos on the channel, viewers will be directly contributing to the conservation of these majestic animals.

Miles Propper I lost my big boy, a huge boxer, Ernie, 98 pounds and we kept him light as possible due to a genetic heart condition. He never understood how big he was and remained my lap puppy until he passed at just 4 1/2 years old. He would stand in front of my big chair & a half- gotten just so he could fit with me-looking all pitiful and I would say oh my big boy come cuddle with me. He would crawl onto my lap and we would snuggle together. He was such a sweet big boy. Though I knew it could happen at any time, it broke my heart when one day with absolutely no sign it was coming, he just collapsed in the yard playing with his sister. Ernie didn’t suffer, he was just gone that fast. Every time Kevin says that phrase, I can see my big boy waiting to be invited onto my lap.

Once Bongani passes, I wouldn’t be surprised if Suja and Meg are given a ‘second chance at love’... with Meg already knowing him and having her sister gone, and Suja without his lion boss Bongani, it might be a match made in heaven. The Bongani story hit home: “Why should we appreciate him any more or less when he’s well or sick.” I feel like we do that with our parents or siblings. Wow! These 2 are so different in personality and both are fantastic. Sure they get tired; they are seniors. I never would have thought of a lion being “skittish” but Suja is and I find it cute. Suja, Bongani and Tsar are a pride, who are Rodney' s favourites, then the attempt to form a new pride by bringing the girls and Bongani' s pride together, it fails, so Kevin has to build a new enclosure for Meg and Amy but he says they're worth it, Vayetse behaving naughtily because Kevin hasn't spent time with him, because of the move, chewing Kevin's shoe and harassing poor Livy who is so mad, a young Bobcat sitting and roaring with Kevin.. you just need to search for Kevin Stephenson and you may stumble on it. I recently watched Kev's 2003 documentary "Dangerious Companions," and seen Bongani and his siblings being hand raised by Kevin when their mother rejected after giving birth a week earlier. Watching these videos with Kevin and all the animals, one almost forgets how dangerous his job actually is. A bad day could result in death. Yet his relationship with the lions are seemingly natural. It’s like my relationship with my domestic cat. So as I watch him talk about and walk with Bongani and Suja, I realize how incredibly AMAZING Kevin actually is. And how rare his work is. There are a lot of people in the world that work with wild animals, but none have the respect Kevin has. And because of that is why I decided to become a subscriber and a member. We need more people like Kevin.

I just love Bongani and specially when he gets vocal. And then Suja decided to totally pull a "wild card" out of his ear.....and said watch this Kev....in I go....first!!!!! And at the end when Suja saw Meg....his "Darling" who he was totally petrified of....and he never took his eyes off her cause he knew better! Great, great video Kevin!!!

Absolutely beautiful to see to fully grown male lions walking side by side. Lions are my number one in big cats. Love to see meet the hyenas characters that would be intriguing. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
