I was in NYC two weeks ago. Wanted to go see the tree get lit, but the commotion that morning kept me away. I heard it’s Swarovski and weighs 900 lbs. It’s probably too expensive and heavy, but I think it’d be a fantastic idea to give them a smaller and beautiful tree or star that they could display at home. Great idea!

@danip3270 I am familiar with the background as well. If the city take get these trees across state lines and into midtown Manhattan, they can afford gifting these expensive stars to the families. Storage issues? then the city can store the stars for the families if necessary. These trees are an enormous gift

How SAD that they cut this magnificent tree down. Rockerfeller center can use a artifical tree and no one would know. SHAMEFUL to cut down a beautiful tree just for 1 months time. 😢
