Enter the World of Vodou Healing in Haiti in 360˚! bit.ly/1UXe105
If you're on a mobile device, download the KZbin app to check out the 360 video.
Broadly travels to Haiti in search of healing with Manbo Katy, a Vodou priestess who summons the spirits to help heal her community. Six years after the 2010 earthquake, which killed more than 160,000 and left over a million people without a home, Haiti is still in dire need of physical, emotional, and spiritual healing. Katy comforts all those who orbit in her sphere, feeding their stomachs and their souls with a combination of financial support and traditional Vodou healing practices. We’ll follow Katy and those whose lives she’s touched as they make their selections of livestock at a beast market, adorn the temple, and prepare for the celebration of the dead, an immersive and transformative ceremony that will call on the spirits to protect the community.
Made Possible by Vaseline.

@@cherie9928 you don't have lecture me on christianity and the bible because in case you didn't know I've studied theology in college. However, I know the bible wasn't written by God directly but it was written by his chosen prophets and apostles and over the years it just got updated to different versions by the church of england and Rome because some people have different denominations.

+Stanley Dougé im not understanding what? That you said some bs about christianity? God isnt a one religion term? Lol Its a one BELIEF term. Nobody is saying anything about any religions dummy. All i said was dont thank GOD for voodoo because theyre two different things. Thats what the original comment was about. But since you wanna mention christianity lets go at it. Im exposing the occult because thats what voodoo is. A cult religion that practices animal and human sacrifices, demonic possession, deitie/statue worship, black magic, etc. what do you call that term? The occult. MY deity? My God is not a deity, lol i serve and love the God of Abraham of isaac and of jacob who sent his only son in human flesh to save your dumbass and i. Lol. Who tf sent you? Tryna defend your lame ass ground when YOU yourself dont even understand what youre saying. Smh...... Go read the bible instead of googling shit. Maybe youll learn a bit of wisdom or two..... 😴
@PrincessYadii
@PrincessYadii 8 жыл бұрын
+Stanley Dougé once again i never said anything about no religion because the word religion is a stigma people like YOU like to always like to imply. Your religion does this or your religion does that your religion judges your religion demands bla bla bla. Im stating my opinions based on the book of our creator not no man made "religion" . Im stating my comments from my own personal experiences and if im goin hard on what i believe its for a reason. Because thats what us believers do is try and awaken the blind and the foolish (like you .. and this lady who was dancing and the fool who was stabbing himself and was actually being possessed shit they all were). Im not saying my beliefs are better or worse nor did i say anything about any religion. Its about a personal connection with Christ. That you dont find in a temple, ritual, church, group therapy or anything like that. you find it when youre at your lowest when youre in need and realize that satan is not the answer, he is.

We as Haitians, need to share our positive & uplifting vibrations to our fellow Haitians. Instead of going to the “bocor” to request bad luck on someone or “madichon” on someone, we need to go to the “bocor” to request good fortune & good tiding towards someone we LOVE 💕. We have to STOP thinking about the people we dislike & start re-energizing our positive vibrations towards everyone we love.

Yes people should go to bocor to bring peace amongst families and to mend broken relationships and heal. Also accept their diaspora of people in America and the U.K. There are so many hatians who are biracial or multicultural that do not feel welcomed when they want to learn about where they come from, and are mistreated for not speaking their language as good or knowing it at all.

@DB-zj7wv
@DB-zj7wv 6 жыл бұрын
Callie S in fact, the Haitian people had a prophecy involving 3 different cloths. First a yellow cloth, which represented the taino indigenous people was covered up by a white cloth. After that a black cloth covered the white cloth. The Haitians saw themselves as avenging the genocide of the taino people. Some of the most powerful Lwa are the ones taught to or passed on to the African enslaved by the indigenous taino people. Usually when new people come to settle in a land, the indigenous people transfer their knowledge of the land and local natural spirits to the new people. A way of passing the torch spiritually. The taino considered the colonizers too greedy, violent, and impure to pass on ancestral knowledge and protective spirits to, so instead they gave the knowledge they had to the Africans on the island whom they were close with. It's a sad story, but those indigenous people survive at least in part through vodun thankfully.

@@kingsleyking7934 it's our culture. A way of life. Those who move away from it publicly sometimes secretly return. The Western religion (religious colonizers) is taking over Haiti... nevertheless, vodun is our roots. There's no escaping it. Some of us are just not dedicated to it because it requires too much of our energy and time so we embraced it without having to engage in the rituals, etc. (similar to secular Jews).

This was so interesting but there is one question that always enters my mind when viewing an apparent connection to spirits or possession. Are people genuinely so believing their body and mind is able to emulate what they perceive to be happening or it's just an act? Either way I really enjoyed this.

It is very much so real. When a divine being mounts you, they have full control. Your personality will change because well it's them, your voice can change, the spirit will eat what they favor, smoke if they favor, drink if they favor and none of what they choose to indulge in will have an affect on your body when they do leave. It's quite amazing actually.

I worked with the demons and Satan, Lucifer and Azazel and I was so possessed I growled like a werewolf on the floor and shook as I had a seizure. That is so damn good! Hail Satan! Hail Azazel and the demons!!!! >:(( \m/ \m/ May the gates of hell open for all of us!

Thank you so much for this. My biological mother was Haitian and she, in addition to much cruelty, kept me away from this part of my heritage. She hated voudou, claiming it was evil, while she was the most evil person I ever knew. v_v This short documentary brings me a little bit closer to my severed heritage. I almost cried when the people talked about how Manbo Katy welcomed them into her home, at 5:25 and 5:40. Bless her, and thank you.

Hi, it's a spirit that is considered Petro. Petro spirits are "hot", therefore their possessions are usually more graphic than calm spirits. This is nothing but a manifestation of the spirit - once a Lwa (elevated spirit from Vodou) possesses a person, they usually do things to prove themselves before proceeding with healing and advicing others. The spirit you're seeing in this man's head stabs herself without feeling pain to prove that it is really her and not some person pretending to be possessed. After a person wakes up, they don't feel the pain of the stabbing.

Greetings to you all, brothers and sisters. I have a questions, my dear Haitian friends...I am a Dominican (I am now living in Santo Domingo, the Capital).The question is: Is there a way that those who practice Dominican Vaudou (Los Misterios) and those who practice Haitian Vaudou...can carry out a ceremony TOGETHER? Is it possible? I see that somehow, we share the same loas (we just call them by different names...), will there be big differences? Who can explain?

@TheForeignersNetwork
@TheForeignersNetwork 8 жыл бұрын
+Art Silva The spirit that's possessing him is Ezili Danto, who is known for her love of knives. When someone is possessed by her, they will repeatedly stab themselves without injury to demonstrate that it is a true possession, and sometimes they will vomit blood. Ezili Danto is Ayiti's patron lwa.

TheForeignersNetwork these Haitian women are practicing witchcraft and sorcery. I wouldn't joke around with things like this because this voodoo crap is evil and it brings curses. Haiti needs God the almighty and his son Jesus Christ to deliver them from darkness.
