I'm feeling all kinds of emotions right now! Tomorrow (at the time of recording), I'll be meeting my new boyfriend's kids for the first time. I'm super excited to take this nextstep in our relationship, but I won't lie - I'm a bit nervous too.
Blending families is TOUGH, and I can confirm that I've read all the articles, called upon my background in teaching, and even thought about my own experiences with having parents split up and meeting the new step parents.
At the moment, I'm feeling a mixture of excitement and nerves about it. This is a BIG step for me (particularly as I'm child free myself) and it could go either of two ways in terms of how the children feel about it all - separated parents and new "step parent" type characters coming onto the scene can be daunting and exciting, a whole mix of things could come up. But just like I went through it as a kid, I'm hopeful it's going to go well and that we can all start building positive relationships together.
