Meeting My Partner’s Kids for the First Time || Collab Story Time

It can feel like so much pressure for both the adults AND the kids when you’re introducing a new romantic partner for the first time, but I think-at least for us-the way we met each other’s kids for the first time really worked out well and reduced that kind of pressure on each other and our children. And it worked out the best for the long run-we’re just two weeks away from celebrating our second anniversary. 💕 I hope you enjoy hearing our story!

I never thought about having the agreement in order! My mom is a step mom to my older sister but my sister was 16 when my folks got married and then she got married when she was 19 so it was very different. I know my mom said she never felt like a true step mom cuz my sister lived mostly with her mom.. but thankfully my mom and my sister are super close now!

There are about a billion ways that people do this while blended family thing. I feel like I’m lucky that the girls and I bonded when they were so young, bc now we’re all pretty close. They still of course will always prefer mom or dad over me of course, but I’m glad we have a good relationship. I love being a stepmom! It’s a fun role to have. 💕

I think dating when you have kids would be kind of....intimidating, for sure. The pumpkin patch and the haybale maze sounds like it would have been fun except for the little one getting separated. You guys did get married pretty quickly! For me and Angel....our whole relationship was 8 months from beginning for marriage, but we'd been friends for a while before that (he had a girlfriend when I first knew him so he was not an 'option' in my mind at the beginning, haha!

I could not imagine dating while being a single parent. It would be so hard and I would be a crazy protective mom. Def have to trust your mom gut.
